Description

HGTV’s Property Brothers meets The Marriage Bargain in this second volume in the Billionaire Builders series, an all-new heart-wrenching and sexy contemporary romance from New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Probst.

When she was a teen, Raven Bella Stratton’s father was killed in a horrible car crash. The bigger shock was the discovery of a woman with him—Diana Pierce—and their two fully packed suitcases with airline tickets to Paris. Devastated by her father’s betrayal, Raven went to live with her aunt, never truly overcoming the traumatic event. When she discovers that the mysterious woman had a family with a husband and three boys, Raven vows to leave the memory of her father behind.

Until Dalton Pierce visits one night and suddenly her past challenges her future...

Leaving his life in California behind to run Pierce Construction with his two older brothers, Dalton Pierce has enjoyed returning home and studying his passion of woodworking. But when he visits the local bar with his brothers one evening, he’s immediately drawn to the smart-mouthed, badass, sexy bartender who sets his body on fire. Unfortunately, she doesn’t seem as intrigued by him, and his multiple advances are met with rejection. When he offers to restore the bar back to its original glory, he begins to work with her on a daily basis, and falls harder. His plan of seduction slowly weaves a web around them both, until they are caught up in the spell. But Dalton doesn’t know the secret that can either destroy them both...or finally mend two broken hearts.

Dalton and Raven was it fate? Hard to say...they both lost a parent in a car accident, neither knew why their parents left with a one way ticket to Paris and would leave their children behind. Dalton loved his mom, but he was hardened by his mothers death. Raven loved her dad but blame Dalton family for her fathers death. However, Dalton and Raven found more and more in common until they could not deny their love for one another. Book heavy on heart at times, but it's also funny warm hearted story.

Dalton and Raven have a way of making everything seem sexual. Their chemistry sizzles off the page, it's a miracle they managed to keep their hands off each other for so long. I loved the build up though. Raven tried really hard because Dalton is supposed to be the enemy, but eventually she gives in to his charming and persuasive ways. I knew it was going to get bad when he found out the truth, but there was a part of his reaction I did not expect. I'm loving this series, can't wait for Tristan's book! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own.

This is the second in this series. I laughed and I cried and I wanted to shake them both. Raven comes back to town and opens a bar/restaurant. She makes up new cocktails and is about to be written up in a magazine. She needs to do some renovations and grudgingly hires Dalton Pierce. He has been after her since she opened up but she keeps turning him down. Dalton's mother was running away to Paris with Raven's father. She wants justice because his family told everyone that her dad lured their mom away. She finally gives in and realizes that he is not responsible for the past. Dalton does the woodwork for PIERCE CONSTRUCTION. He is jaded about love and just wants a few days of sex and move on. But Raven makes him feel things he never has before. But when he finds out who she is, he is mean and breaks up with her. When he figures out what a mistake he has made, he tries to get her back but it will take more than words to convince Raven. Great story. I loved the characters and the storyline. It is a sex, funny, and heartbreaking story. You can't go wrong with any story told by Jennifer Probst. *RECEIVED A COPY FROM NETGALLEY AND VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED THIS BOOK*
