Description

“I'm done hurting her. She's been hurt enough. It's time I set her free...”
Once upon a time, I wished to go home and forget.
Now, I’m strong and ready to fight.
Seduced and claimed, Elder no longer just demands my voice, he commands me to be a thief like him.
I refuse.
But he offers me things I shouldn’t want, favours I should run from.
In return for his protection, I’m ordered to steal enough pennies and dollars to buy back my freedom.
Only, we both aren’t prepared for how he changes me, evolves me.
It’s my turn to learn about him.
It’s his wish to teach me how to be normal.
Until something goes wrong.
And our life together comes to an end.

Theme song: "Beliver" by Imagine Dragons. They say freedom comes at a price, and this time it's literally true. One challenge: Earn every cent she's worth. One stipulation: Payment must be on another's dime. One dilemma: They themselves. It's taken everything for Pim to claw back to the girl she once was. It's taken everything in Elder to decide once and for all to set her free or not. But as his demons slowly reveal, his grasp on control is slipping, everything he's fixed inside him is ripping at the seams. The very thing he wishes to hold him together is tearing him apart, and, ultimately, love might not conquer all. (I was given this Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review.) Riveting, profound, and gut-wrenchingly angsty, Pim and Elder invade my head, twist my heart, and toy with my emotions. So many secrets, so many lies, not enough trust, and they need a vessel larger than the Phantom to keep them afloat. Constructed with loads of literary elements/devices Hundreds also stands out a masterpiece within prose. It's quite poetic and each sentence holds weight. A quintessential dark romance, Pepper Winters is a queen within her genre! Lastly, I should add a cliffhanger warning! It might make you cry, so get the tissues! • Three books down two more to go...

Hundreds was about change, healing, and evolving. Elder and Pimlico pushed and pulled at each other while growing. They were equals both looking for freedom. They fed off each other's strengths and weaknesses building a friendship earned out of respect. Hundreds was the third book in the series while the main characters remained the same this book dealt primarily with Elder's past. Pepper delved deeper into Elders world inviting both Pimlico and the reader into his world. Inner dialogue was added to aid in those personal feelings that often times go unshared. Hundreds was set on the Phantom. Pimlico was free yet bound to Elder. A blossoming friendship and new arrangement was crafted. Pimlico changed and evolved at the hands of Elder. He had a way of reinstating a human quality back into her. Once the frail timed girl turned strong and courageous. I could relate to Pimlico as a woman struggling with her body. Not her situation, but metaphorically. Pimlico's character transitioned from the meek mute timid girl who was a slave to a monster into a strong brave girl capable of making solid choices for herself. Pimlico was given the time she needed to heal. With understanding, support, and compassion, Elder proved he was a gentleman not a monster. Pepper has a uniqueness that I find appealing. The way she draws me into her stories and creates settings and topics that are interesting. I love that Pepper has two more stories to share about Elder and Pimlico. It's rare that I get excited to read a series but Pepper manages to provide worthy reads. They offer an expansion of the characters growing from weak to strong. Constant reminders of who they were and who they are growing into kept me intact. Each book in the series left me satisfied. Each book was a new developmental stage in their growth and I welcomed each book as a separate journey with well known characters. The transformation of watching Pimlico reach developmental milestones was courageous. Elder became a better man by guiding Pimlico by correcting past mistakes. Elder's character redeemed himself in the eyes of a worthy young woman. The complexity of Pepper's character grow deeply with each new book she presents. Pepper took a character like Elder who in most people's eyes considered a bad man but when faced with Pimlico's circumstances Elder comes out looking like a savior. Pepper understands the ticks of the human psyche and reinvents those characteristics into her characters. The power of her words is and will always remain the driving force for me wanting to read a Pepper Winters book. Cleverly crafted with flawless ability it's truly breathtaking to fall into her world. To experience a Pepper Winters journey is a wonderful gift. I love the way Pepper transports me into her creative mind. Pepper connects me mind, body, and soul to her characters. She understands the behaviors of both men and women bringing that connection to a realistic level.

I don't know if this review will do justice in explaining how amazing this book was! I am hopelessly in love with this series. As dark as Elder and Pim's world is, I feel like I am on this journey with them and I don't want to leave! Each book is better than the last and I have to say that Hundreds has made my personal list of best reads EVER! Pepper Winters has this way of whisking you away and painting bright, bold and vivid images that you swear you can touch. Situations that make you catch feelings. She can make you love characters that normally you would despise and works her magic to turn what would seem an impossible love story into something that is undeniably epic. If you have not started this series, please do yourself a favor and start with Pennies. You will be hooked! It just seemed fair to let you know that. Now, for those that have read Pennies and Dollars.........Now we are in the thick of it. You know where we left off in book 2 and it picks right back up with Elder regretting what he has done to Pim. Her words now haunt him and his inner struggle is forcing him to choose, keep her....sell her....or give her what she deserves, her freedom. With Pim's voice comes strength. And in that strength, a new world awaits her. One where she can start to acknowledge that the comfort she once had with No One, could possibly be found with Elder. But when Elder reaches a decision that Pim is against, a new debt is owed. The question is.....who will it cost more? This was so hard to write because I wanted to give absolutely nothing away while my mind was screaming the entire time to tell you everything that happens. But you should enjoy the book for the first time, spoiler free, with the excitement and eagerness that I know we all have now that the book is live. You will see Pim's growth. Both the good and the bad and you will get to know Elder's demons a little bit better and start to understand why he is the man that he is today. This book was worth the wait. It is addictive. It is powerful It is perfection. I would highly recommend this book and/or the entire series, depending on where you are at in the books. You will love the world of Elder and Pim that Pepper Winters flawlessly delivers. Until Thousands comes out, ENJOY!

I finished this a couple days ago and I still have no clue how to review it?!?! This book was........ ALL CONSUMING I love this series!!! Pepper Winters loves to leave her readers hanging and begging for more. And this book was no different. There was so much angst and the anticipation was brutal. The inner demons and pain that Elder and Pim have endured throughout life will leave you gutted and emotionally raw. My heart shattered for Elder and the inner struggles he is dealing with or not dealing with. His pain just bleeds from the pages. I love watching Pim grow. She is still struggling but she is finding her voice again and it left me with chills. The wait for the next book is going to be a struggle. Pepper Winters left me with tears in my eyes and my heart shattered. I can't wait for book 4
