Too much thought about whether or not to have sex. It went on and on and on. It is physically improbable for a 25 to 30+ year old male to maintain an erection after intercourse much less have 3 back to back ejaculations unless drugs were used. I do like the characters.

Pennies series is a great read with lots of unexpected drama. I cried through half was angry and in suspense for the other. Talk about an emotional roller coaster with unexpected romance. Loved it!

Life Changing Story

Do I really have to wait 3 more months to read the final book???? Ugh, this is a page turner!! I hope Elder finds his way back...... So many twists. I love this series.

This series squeezes your heart. The way this book is written is like no other. Winters does not disappoint.

Thousands was about Pimlico earning her freedom and reclaiming her stolen life. Thousands began where Hundreds left off with Elder setting Pim free to reclaim the life she lost in order to find her mother. The story began in Monaco and continued on the open seas on The Phantom. Thousands encompassed more than a complicated romance between two survivors. It was about surviving the people who had the power to kill them. A war was coming where Elder had to face his past mistakes. Death was inevitable while his cursed choices of his past came face to face with his present. Pim was a strong and fierce survivor. She was understandably numb to the physical pain she endured yet open with her heart. Pim fought to gain back her sexuality. “It’s not that you don’t want me. It’s if you can survive me”. Great quote. Elder's character struggled with an addiction that Pim quenched. Elder had conflicting feelings towards Pim that he had to conquer. Elder battled with his compulsions whether Pim was near him or away. His thoughts always lustful. Elder was learning to forge a relationship with Pim on a level he never explored before. While Pim was learning to rebuild her mind, body, and heart by allowing intimacy with Elder. Elder continued to battle with his addiction by distancing himself from Pim. Elder was Pim's protector from the savage world she was once enslaved in. Pim gained back trust in one man who had many flaws, yet he redeemed himself when he set her free. My favorite part of a Pepper Winter's story is the emotional connection she creates with her characters. Rather than rush the story she takes her time building complex characters. Her scenes are explicitly illustrated with appropriate words to paint the perfect picture in my mind. Pepper focuses on the heart of the characters by dragging them out of their shells. I loved the stages of self control Elder had when fighting his attraction towards Pim. Elder and Pim at times held many similarities and other times they were complete opposites, yet together they trusted each other, provided support, and protected each other. Elder and Pim balanced each other out. The alternating points of view of these two characters opened their minds, souls, and hearts. I loved how doubts plagued the minds of both these strong independent characters. Their feelings rendered them weak for a love so strong.There was an undeniable lust between Elder and Pim and every time they were in a room together you could feel the sexual tension. Pepper's formula for connecting her characters is quite unique. Pepper adds moments from their past with moments from an uncertain future that transition well. Pepper is a phenomenal writer. She is the only author that can create four or more books out of two main characters so superbly. I've enjoyed Elder and Pim's journey. The growth both have exuded and the secrets they have shared has been spectacular. Thousands carved open these characters exposing their weaknesses. It was an emotional journey of healing and exploring. Even with months between releases I found little reminders in each book to help ease me back into the story. Pepper threads you into her web stringing you along a long journey of a push and pull adding distractions along the way. At times it's frustrating and slow and too tedious, but I do enjoy her writing style. I had moments of bliss and moments of disinterest. Sometimes the story was stagnant while reaching towards another distraction, but somehow Pepper pulled me thru those stagnant stages with some fun and exciting performances from her past characters.

I love this author sooooo much, but after this cliff hanger I truly hate her!!! Why isn't millions out already!!! Best book in the series so far. I'm so utterly captivated and need more!!!!

Another riveting edition in the Dollars series, Pepper Winters managed to twist my heart with Thousands while leaving me starving for the next installment, Millions. Slotting itself as one of my favorites in Winters's bevy of novels, the fourth volume had me flipping pages like burgers on a grill, eager to devour the deliciously raw tale of two lovers battling the past and present to create a future. Lastly, I should announce that Thousands includes a rather cruel cliffhanger (and here I thought Hundreds was heart-wrenching). Tape pillows to your wall because you might want to throw this book at it. (Lol, no joke.
