Description

He’s the boss. But she’s ready to take charge.

“Wonderfully witty and fresh, Bossed is a must-read for anyone who loves a sassy, modern heroine and an in-charge alpha hero.”—New York Times bestselling author Lauren Layne

Jenny: Job interviews are a bitch under the best of circumstances, but when your potential boss is the world’s biggest prick, that’s when you should simply walk away. It’s just that I need this job so badly—and I’m mesmerized by Ethan Mason’s piercing gaze. Men like him aren’t supposed to exist in real life. But under the tailored suits and GQ looks, Ethan simmers with barely restrained ambition. And no matter how hard I work to fight the attraction, I’m going to get burned.

Ethan: You don’t become a top agent without learning how to close a deal. I always get what—or who—I want, by staying cool and in command. Then Jenny Jackson walks into my office with her lush curves and “screw you” attitude and blows away my intentions of keeping things professional. All I can think about is exploring the perfect body hidden beneath those conservative clothes or shutting her saucy mouth with one hot kiss. Jenny’s worth breaking the rules over—if I can convince her to break the rules for me.

Bossed is sexy. And by that, we mean sexy. Like 18+ sexy. This ebook includes an excerpt from another Loveswept title.

  • Great book!!

This is the first full length book I've read by Sloane Howell only. It was awesome! Ethan owns his own Sports Agency, and has a lot of personal baggage from his childhood. Jenny is an accountant who gets a job at Ethan's agency to help pay her sick fathers medical bills. From the moment they meet, they have crazy chemistry. They both fight it but once they give in...wow! I loved these characters, as well as all the characters that surrounded them in the book. They all just meshed together so well. I love Matt and Kelsey and am happy they are getting their own book, which I preordered before I finished this one. It was a easy read for me and I really enjoyed it, the story had me from the start.

Loved the interaction between Eathan and Jenny--fun, snarky, touching and at times hysterical! Also loved the supporting characters--- best friends, looking after, supporting and sometimes kicking a little butt. Would like to hear more about them too.

I was blown away by this book! Jenny and Ethan have amazing chemistry. Ethan is the world's biggest jerk when he first bumps into Jenny. And she about walks away from the interview, but I think that's what catches Ethan's attention. There were times these two made me laugh, cry and sigh (some of the things Ethan does "just because"), but there were other times they frustrated me with their childish behavior. But really, who doesn't revert to childish behavior once in a while. I for one can't wait for Matt's book next!

This story brings it! Filled with saucy, smoldering banter, hilarious interactions, sizzling chemistry in a forbidden, but so tempting romance, as well as flawed individuals with heart. This hit all the feels for me, I laughed, I cried and I fell for both of these characters, flaws and all as well as their awkward struggles that they must overcome, to win in the game of love and life. Of course my favorite parts are the scorching chemistry between them and the smoldering banter when they hurl words back and forth at each other, turning them into a raging inferno of lust and desire as they rock one another’s worlds, and that was done superbly! This is the first story of Sloane Howell that I have read and Lordy, Lordy do I need to read a lot more! This kept me captivated and entertained from beginning to end. Loved it! Should you read this? You Betcha! Highly Recommended. I voluntarily requested a ARC through NetGalley and readily offered my honest review.
  • Another One of Howell’s Masterpieces

Jenny’s got a sick father, bills stacked high, and a need for a better paying job. When she lands a once a life time interview, she never counts on it including the alpha bad boy boss. Ethan Mason’s looking for a new hire, someone good with numbers and statistics. He’s set himself up with a specific mission statement and his business plan is on point. He’s found the perfect candidate on paper. However, Ethan Mason may have just met his match when Jenny Jackson challenges him in the interview. She has the nerve to get under his skin, and something about that gets Ethan fired up. Sloane Howell knows how to turn up the heat between one hot alpha male and an equally sassy self-assured female opponent. Howell’s strength is in mixing the perfect blend of humor with the undertones and deeper layers of major themes. He tackles some big thematic topics and still leaves you with a smile on your face. Both Ethan and Jenny begin with hardened exteriors and an Eye of the Tiger attitude. Howell develops them through the help of strong sub characters, and the interweaving of the job at hand, the no holds bar business of Ethan’s sports agency. He demonstrates the vulnerability of both characters, but never deviates from the integrated with and pop culture, which provides Bossed with its lighthearted feel. Never a disappointment to read one of Howell’s masterpieces.

I really enjoyed this one. It's and employee/employer office romance story with a couple of really snarky characters that made me laugh. I do love a good smartass remark. The secondary characters are quite interesting and I'm looking forward to reading their story. There is a wide range of emotions going on in this story as well. The H Ethan doesn't come across quite as Alpha as I think he was intended to be but I did enjoy him. The h Jenny is a bit out of control at times but she was ok. Overall a very enjoyable read and one I definitely recommend.

Ethan falls for Jenny right away. They literally run into one another on the sidewalk. After that, it is all banter and heat. Jenny knows she needs this job. How can she work for a man who makes her feel defensive? If only she were not attracted to his hot and bossy ways. This book was full of fun! There was sarcasm, banter, humor, heat, heart, and more. I found myself feeling all of the feels. I laughed and cried and enjoyed every page. ***This ARC copy was given n exchange for an hones review by Netgalley and its publishers.

Overall, this was a good read. I liked the storyline, a boss/employee, hate to love theme. They clashed at the beginnng and I loved their interactions. Jenny is no wallflower and I liked that she called Ethan on his bad behavior. There was a little resisting due to the boss/employee relationships but just the right amount to be believable. Really the only negative I have is both reacted in the extreme in certain situations that made it distracting and hard to connect with them later in the story. I'm still very interested in reading the next book in the series. ARC provided by NetGalley.
