Description

This tight end is at the top of his game.

He’s good with his hands, even better with his sexy mouth, and the best at making me forget my own name. His—ahem—stats are perfect.

But I can’t fall for him.

He might be everything I want, all rolled into a glorious package of gridiron god, but there’s one teeny-tiny problem. The vile, loathsome team I’ve spent my entire life hating—my beloved school’s arch-rival?

This guy is their star player.

I ran across this book & I’m glad I did. Just a great football romance, with an intense rivalry mixed in for good measure. Don’t miss # 88 & the small but mighty blonde story. It’s hard to put down.
  • Mild romance

I read this thinking it would be similar to the blind fold club series, but it is not. The steamy scenes were pretty mild and few/far between. Plot was good, I just wouldn’t put it in the erotic genre. If you’re more interested in the romance than the sex scenes, you’ll like this. Ending was cute, a “happy ending” without being too drawn out and cheesy.

I thoroughly enjoyed this rivalry; it’s a different type of sports romance that totally worked. It helps that I’m a football fan, too. This is not the first book from this author I’ve read. Nikki Sloane can write good, hot romances. This is a must read.

This book is SO SEXY. I loved Kayla & Jay. The tension and chemistry between them is incredible. I was captivated from the beginning of this book through the whole thing. Read it all in the same day. In fact, I am mad at myself for not making it last longer. So many things I like about this book. ✔️ NA/College romance ✔️ Sports Romance ✔️ Touch of forbidden romance. I loved that they go to rival schools! I like the sneaking around/off limits kind of perspective. It is so skillfully written. I felt like I was watching a movie. I could clearly visualize the whole thing in my head. Kayla is crazy. She says what she thinks and doesn't care what people think or say about her. Some of her trash talking banter had me laughing out loud. Jay is a gorgeous, popular jock who finds himself chasing after a girl who can't stand his football team or college. It's entertaining watching him try to convince her that they could work out. These two are off the charts hot, sexy and endearing.

“Look around. There are no enemies here. There’s just good, old-fashioned rivalry.” – Bob Wells The Rivalry might happen to be my first Nikki Sloane book, but let me just say that it certainly will not be my last! Right from the start I was hooked on the concept of a good wholesome school rivalry, but what I got was something so much more. This story was hilariously funny and I couldn’t help myself from laughing out loud time after time. I must admit that I have never been a football watching gal (please don’t pelt me with tomatoes…I’m a Minnesotan gal who is a hockey lover through and through), but give me a story with a hot as hell football player on the cover and that thought is completely thrown out! I think Nikki Sloane may have converted me…at least a little bit. Get ready to watch two arch-rivals fall in love…it doesn’t matter if you bleed red or blue because by the end you’ll be bleeding purple (😉 – yes that is totally a reference to mixing the colors red and blue together)!

Another hit from Nikki Sloane! The Rivalry is a sports romance from Nikki Sloane that really shows her growth as a writer. She's excelled in the HOT Blindfold Club book, but now shows that she can give us another side of her. She can write sports and the actions in sports perfectly. She can write some angst. The Rivalry was such a cute story! Kayla is a cheerleader and bleeds Ohio State red. Jay bleeds Michigan blue. If you're a believer in school rivalries, you know this shouldn't work between them! The story is real - this could happen! It's not so far-fetched, this isn't a gazillionaire falling for poor intern. This is two college kids falling for each other. Kudos to Nikki Sloane for giving us another great story. If you're looking for cute, good banter, realistic scenarios, hot scenes (don't worry, Nikki still brings this aspect!), read this now. And as it releases, we're still in football season, so it's totally time-appropriate!
