4By Bill Lake, VaThere were a lot of good tips for the beginner in this book. Good, specific advice about brands to buy or avoid in cameras, software, and accessories. The iPad book version referenced a lot of photos that were not present. I expected a lot more visual examples but this version surprisingly only had 6 or 7 photos in it.Great book for DSLR owners

I would have spent an eternity finding all this info on a thousand sites online and probably wouldn't have understood it still. The writer has a really casual no-nonsense writing style and does a good job of explaining difficult concepts in an easy way. I also liked the quick tips sections. CONS: It's missing some pictures and there are some typos. Also, there isn't a lot of extremely technical information. Definitely worth $5. That's the same price as a farting app on the iPad! J/k.Missing photos!
