A Christmas Carol

5By JBdz1975I enjoyed reading this novelA Wonderful Little Tale
4By JimskierThis is the first time in 50+ years that I've read A Christmas Carol, and it did not disappoint. I discovered that over the years, the various movies and stories "based" on this book have taken quite a bit of literary license. I've been very satisfied by finally reading the original and taking in the spirit with which is was intended.A Christmas Carol, Throwback Edition
5By Almost the TruthWhat a treat to 1) find a free copy of Dickens' tale; 2) see reproductions of the hand-written manuscript; 3) enjoy the original artwork; 4) read, for the first time, the source material for so many wonderful Christmas movies. It was interesting to find a couple scenes that, as far as I know, have never made it into a screen adaptation of this classic. It was also fun to learn that many of the wonderful lines that I've heatd spoken by Mister Magoo or George C. Scott or Michael Caine are direct quotes. Just reading the closing chapter, in which Scrooge skitters about in unbridled glee, was enough to make me giddy as a school boy. This book was great!
5By JM180I read it to my nine year old son over the holidays and he really enjoyed it.Classic
4By Mr. Mark RThe classic Christmas tale of old Ebeneezer Scrooge. Very easy and quick to read. Also has pictures of the original manuscript which is neat. I enjoyed going back to my childhood while reading this.*Yawn*
