Description
“Another winner . . . Pungent observations, indelibly drawn characters and a twisting, surprise-laden plot.”—Atlanta Journal and Constitution
Kidnappers have snatched the teenage son of super-star golfer Linda Coldren and her husband, Jack, an aging pro, at the height of the U.S. Open. To help get the boy back, sports agent Myron Bolitar goes charging after clues and suspects from the Main Line mansions to a downtown cheaters’ motel—and back in time to a U.S. Open twenty-three years ago, when Jack Coldren should have won, but didn't. Suddenly Myron finds him self surrounded by blue bloods, criminals, and liars. And as one family's darkest secrets explode into murder, Myron finds out just how rough this game can get.
In novels that crackle with wit and suspense, Edgar Award winner Harlan Coben has created one of the most fascinating and complex heroes in suspense fiction—Myron Bolitar—a hotheaded, tenderhearted sports agent who grows more and more engaging and unpredictable with each page-turning appearance.
“Sharp plotting and emotional density, as well as nonstop wisecracks.”—Publishers Weekly
Reviews
You are back on my list.
4By raglelady43The last book I read turned me off, but this one was worth reading.Too long, boring and twisted
2By Emg185If you really love this author you’ll probably love the book. The writing on the early part has an almost comic book feel for humor. Kind of superficially silly. As you move on into motives, characters and possibilities of outcomes you’ll either be bored stiff waiting for something to happen or, like I said, if you like his style, you’ll be fine. I couldn’t skim through fast enough and finally, finally it was over. He’s done better workGood read!
4By canreadnowthatimretiredThis one was a bit harder to follow for me, and seemed a bit more convoluted! I enjoyed reading it, even though golf is not my thing, either! Still, all in all, a good read!Back Spin
1By Halsterx1/5 stars. Couldn’t finish it and I always finish a book. Stopped after 100 pages it sucked so bad. Corny as hell. Hal RToo Many Twists
3By Voratious ReaderI got the feeling the author was trying to see how many plot twists he could weave into one story. I found it disruptive and gratuitous, not “ringing true.”Bolitar Books
5By LB from Dallas, TXThey are all great! Entertaining and clever - they never cease to entertain.
