Description
A couple years back, I was at the Phoenix airport bar. It was empty except for one heavy-set, gray bearded, grizzled guy who looked like he just rode his donkey into town after a long day of panning for silver in them thar hills. He ordered a Jack Daniels straight up, and that's when I overheard the young guy with the earring behind the bar asking him if he had ID. At first the old sea captain just laughed. But the guy with the twinkle in his ear asked again. At this point it became apparent that he was serious. Dan Haggerty's dad fired back, "You've got to be kidding me, son." The bartender replied, "New policy. Everyone has to show their ID." Then I watched Burl Ives reluctantly reach into his dungarees and pull out his military identification card from World War II.
It's a sad and eerie harbinger of our times that the Oprah-watching, crystal-rubbing, Whole Foods-shopping moms and their whipped attorney husbands have taken the ability to reason away from the poor schlub who makes the Bloody Marys. What we used to settle with common sense or a fist, we now settle with hand sanitizer and lawyers. Adam Carolla has had enough of this insanity and he's here to help us get our collective balls back.
In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks is Adam's comedic gospel of modern America. He rips into the absurdity of the culture that demonized the peanut butter and jelly sandwich, turned the nation's bathrooms into a lawless free-for-all of urine and fecal matter, and put its citizens at the mercy of a bunch of minimum wagers with axes to grind. Peppered between complaints Carolla shares candid anecdotes from his day to day life as well as his past—Sunday football at Jimmy Kimmel's house, his attempts to raise his kids in a society that he mostly disagrees with, his big showbiz break, and much, much more. Brilliantly showcasing Adam's spot-on sense of humor, this book cements his status as a cultural commentator/comedian/complainer extraordinaire.

5By nyjimmyClassic Adam, funny, insightful and realistic. Great read. JKAceman at his best.
4By ErnieBrooks1984No one speaks up for the American who's put up with too much dumb crap like Adam Carolla. He's not too political and when he is bridging it, he nails all sides. He's not to chauvinist or feminine, but he tells both sexes when they're being idiots. He brings back the concept of judgement at it's finest. I flipped through this book in a couple of lunch breaks at work.Mostly ok
3By Nick createI mostly enjoyed the authors very direct, unambiguous opinions. He began loosing me when he started griping about individual foods and I disagree with his parenting advice.Fantastic!
5By TwinMama2008Despite the multiple references to the fact he's an Athiest (which I am not) I appreciate a spot-on observational humorist. This book had me agreeing and laughing out loud most pages. It's an awesome read.Very funny and hilariously realistic
5By LflaskA great read, this book is full of funny stories and very realistic takes on everyday topics. I really enjoyed it and bet you will also.Loudmouth or average Joe's common sense??
5By irishbull44I don't always agree with Adam but I find that under that grumpy smartasstical exterior is a wise common sense based genius. I love his podcast and this book is GREAT!!! Even if you have the printed version of the book the audio is different and well worth the purchase. Thank you Adam!!!Funny!
5By Number 01 FanIt's like having Adam Carolla's voice shouting funny things in your head. Patton Oswalt said "it was a unique reading experience" and I agree. Well worth it.ACE on a trike?!?
5By Shane AllaireAwesome book Adam. Just read Rich Man Poor Man as well. Can't wait for your next one!Big Fan
5By AreJBig fan of Adam's and loved the book. Can't wait for the next book project.Side ache!
5By MikeyCashIn classic Adam Carolla style, full of complaints, full of laughs and full of sound advice from the "factory of comedy" named Adam Carolla.Great book from the ace man
5By Ken34FiveOne warning some of the humor/ideas are rehashed from time to time...not too much of an obstacle as you can skip these sections or simply skim through them. Any carolla fan who has the right expectations of this book will not be disappointed. It is for laughs and arguably in some cases, enlightenment; it is not a dissertation.Great, but mostly reruns
4By Jeep BarnettIf you've listened to a lot of Adam's rants, the much of this book will be a repeat. If you're only a little familiar with Adam, this book is a goldmine of hilarious observations and surprisingly deep thoughts. Maybe this book is a lender to get your friends turned on to Adam? If that's the case, get it in paper form instead.Loved it
5By HyempSo on point. A must read.Brilliant
4By TwistedtwistReading Adam Carolla's metaphorical humor never failed to entertain. I was scratching my chin in thought at the same time as I cried in laughter. It was great to get a more personal insight into his life coming to fame, and see his crude perception at how society fails him. Not just complaints, but he also offers reliable solutions. Even if I could agreed alongside him, I still thought the text was comedical. Thank you Adam!Epic heroism
5By Timt8ionIf you took Quienten Tarantino's creative genes, Jim Gaffagin's humor genes, and whats in Vanessa Branch's jeans, and had them fight and then make up, the baby would be a literary genious known as "Ace"!In 50 years we will be chicks
5By Bk5181980Great book. Very funny all the way through.. Great job Adam. You need to be on KROQ more often. Can be boring at times
3By BadassmuthaThe book starts out good, I always been a Ace fan. The book feel like it's just a big list of things that Adam is complaining about, like it's one big segment of "what can't Adam complain about?". Overall it's an ok read, took me about a week to finish and was glad it was over.Great book
5By Brian61482I love all Carolla's stuff and this book is no different. If you're a fan of the man show or his podcast you will love this book.
