This book is hilarious, informative and inspiring. It's well written and a pure joy to read.

I read this so fast! So awesome to hear someone who is feeling the same way I am in my mid thirties as a health care provider... Awesome read, great sense of humor, and I could relate in so many ways! Highly recommend! I bought her other books immediately after finishing! Hoping to visit Costa Rica for 2 weeks next year :)

This is a very entertaining book about a happy couple who gave up two sure-thing chiropractic businesses and packed up for a pretty much unknown tropical paradise. These people have great senses of humor and true adventurous spirits. Although the book is very entertaining, it's inspirational how they risked so much.

We purchased this book along with many others to help research our future move to Costa Rica. This one is key! It not only helps you prepare for what awaits both good and challenging, but keeps you laughing your way to the Pura Vida attitude. We miss our oasis there and Nadine helps bring it to us each day while we wait. Read this book if you are moving abroad, anywhere, or if you just want to laugh till you are crying with joy.

I spent a semester in Costa Rica (during which I met my husband). I wrote a memoir about my crazy semester (Pura Vida: a Memoir about International Love and Growing Up). My husband and I are considering moving to Costa Rica with our 3 kids, this book gave me some great insights as to what such a move would entail.

Nadine's writing is hilarious. I finished this book before going to Costa Rica with my husband (who is also a chiropractor). Her stories about leaving her life in PA, and starting something totally new and unfamiliar are incredible and eye opening. I finished this book so fast and bought the sequel, which I am more than halfway through while in Costa Rica! I highly recommend Nadine's book, if not just for informational purposes, but for laughs and smiles. And for the thought of doing it yourself one day. :)

I was interested in this book after visiting Costa Rica a few times. I wondered how it would be to move there and Nadine has done a great job with this book. It's funny, witty and an easy read as she takes you through her experiences. Thanks Nadine for all the info and look forward to reading the sequel! Pura Vida! Josh

Maybe it's because my wife and I had designs on the same move since 2011 or because I starting riding the metro to save money and consequently have more time to read... Either way, I have not been a big reader for years and took this one down in a little over a week. The writing style is humorous, and the stories are laughable. It's hard to believe I could fail at the same task when I read about the choices (some have to be embellished) were made Nadine and her husband. None the less, I couldn't wait to keep reading what happens. One day into it and I told my wife to read it. She finished in one week. That was about a year or so ago. Now it's 6 weeks and counting: we quit our jobs last week and have our tickets... And a loose plan for Costa Rica. Thanks Nadine for the inspiration.
