“Features all the passion and swashbuckling that fans of this historical fantasy series have come to expect.”—People
1778: France declares war on Great Britain, the British army leaves Philadelphia, and George Washington’s troops leave Valley Forge in pursuit. At this moment, Jamie Fraser returns from a presumed watery grave to discover that his best friend has married his wife, his illegitimate son has discovered (to his horror) who his father really is, and his beloved nephew, Ian, wants to marry a Quaker. Meanwhile, Jamie’s wife, Claire Randall, and his sister, Jenny, are busy picking up the pieces.
The Frasers can only be thankful that their daughter Brianna and her family are safe in twentieth-century Scotland. Or not. In fact, Brianna is searching for her own son, who was kidnapped by a man determined to learn her family’s secrets. Her husband, Roger, has ventured into the past in search of the missing boy . . . never suspecting that the object of his quest has not left the present. Now, with Roger out of the way, the kidnapper can focus on his true target: Brianna herself.

5By Din2shagI am obsessed with the Outlander series. Truly!! I read all 8 back to back and can hardly wait for #9!! Whatever will I do until it comes out?Book 8
3By Shay Shay SWhile I have enjoyed reading these 8 novels, I feel like the author ultimately “lost” Claire’s character. Claire’s unique way of looking at the world which was so riveting in the first 3 books, and her 20th century outlook and voice, has been long silenced. I am tired of hearing her repetitious trite words....”I love you Jamie”....and “Sweetheart” when referring to her patients. Equally annoying is her ‘oath’ constantly thrown in the reader’s face as an excuse for her own inaction. Additionally, Lord John’s character has lost his depth of compassion, and he has become superficial. I hope the 9th book will surprise me and bring the characters back to the outstanding depth and realistically human thoughts, feelings, hopes and dreams that they possessed early on and which made reading about them worthwhile. Frankly, throughout...I wanted to get back to Bree, Roger, Jim, and Mandy in the 1980s and their more interesting plot line, hoping for SOME research on their part that would make the plot development interesting and to introduce clues in support of what was happening in 1778. Unfortunately, that never materialized.Yeah outlander series
5By Dixie Doodle 🐶I tried to leave a lengthy review on the outlander but also including the whole series. I had a lot to say but this page would not let me submit. I will keep trying because I think you’d want to see what I wrote. And just so you know the whole series is absolutely beyond wonderful! Thank you and I am so looking forward to your next book. What it ended there????
5By InuvikExcellent book. The series have been extremely good. I had started with watching the first three parts of outlander on TV. Then decided to read all the books before I watched more. I love seeing the sequencing difference in the two. I can’t wait to watch the other parts of Outlander and compare more. Both are highly recommended!!! The reading first then watching gives it a perspectively difference that makes since for both. Enjoy!!!Outlander is like a glimpse into another life.
5By Babyluv72Reading the Outlander novels is not like reading a story, though there is a story line, it's like having the rare privilege of looking into another persons life. The story is fascinating, but what makes it readable after 1000+ pages is the author makes you apart of the ordinary in extraordinary circumstance. I can't wait until the ninth book is finished.LOVED IT
5By PorterslcI had to read it again!!
