“Lydia is dead. But they don’t know this yet.” So begins this exquisite novel about a Chinese American family living in 1970s small-town Ohio. Lydia is the favorite child of Marilyn and James Lee, and her parents are determined that she will fulfill the dreams they were unable to pursue. But when Lydia’s body is found in the local lake, the delicate balancing act that has been keeping the Lee family together is destroyed, tumbling them into chaos. A profoundly moving story of family, secrets, and longing, Everything I Never Told You is both a gripping page-turner and a sensitive family portrait, uncovering the ways in which mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, and husbands and wives struggle, all their lives, to understand one another.

3By Janie's LibraryI finished this book even though I didn’t love it. It was ok, not great, like “Little Fires.”Not was i was expecting
3By awilli218Really good if you like family oriented books. Thought it would be more murder-mystery like. Took me a while to get through because it’s not my usual thing haha.Ok
3By highway robbery feesPretty good but lacked a ton of substance in the endPretty Depressing
2By babygirl21925The book could use some lighter moments. It felt like a caricature.Kept me guessing

5By Brooke D🤩This book I got from my neighbor and it was amazing I could not put it down! Such a amazing plot and great storyline! It was an okay book!
3By Substitute4love_18It had good character development but the plot line was a little bland. It was highly recommended by one my favorite authors who ended up making a tv show into it. As well as on goods reads but I didn’t live up to expectations for me. Ever go up a really steep hill then it’s flat for a little then you drive slowly to avoid going too fast? That is how this books plot felt.Such an amazing book

5By Lieutenant Cat M.The Lee’s world was completely engrossing. Beautiful written and I think a great depiction of the feelings of those who lose someone they love unexpectedly in a way they cannot understand or explain.
