5By gweneethWhat a wonderful story. The life of an obese child as seen through her eyes. It doesn’t matter how many times people try to force you to diet it has to be what you want AND how bad you want it. I’m so thankful she finally saw the real reason for her unhappiness and decided to be different. I’ve always loved that phrase, ‘Fake until you make it.’ It works with depression, unhappiness, forgiveness, etc. Just do it until it feels real. Thanks. GWhen Comes the Joy

There was no attempt to make her the perfect heroine who always managed to do the right thing at the right time and get her fairy tale ending. Instead she could have been my neighbor or a girl I knew from school or someone I met on the street. Thousands of women go through similar struggles every day with similar responses. This was a good read that made me look into myself and evaluate.Skinny Me

At one point, Jennifer states that, ironically, she has been the one judging and criticizing. While this maybe true, it is also true that people-including family-often judge and criticize; even hate over-weight people. Never the less, this is a poignant story for people on both sides of the coin. A story with the power motivate change in our society and to give us a lesson in kindness—especially to ourselves.Skinny me
