Description
A disturbing package leads Detective Cormoran Strike and his assistant Robin Ellacott to investigate four dangerous murder suspects in this "magnetic" British mystery (Michiko Kakutani, New York Times) that inspired the acclaimed HBO Max series C.B. Strike. When Robin Ellacott opens an unexpected delivery, she is horrified to discover that it contains a woman's severed leg. Her boss, private detective Cormoran Strike, is less surprised but just as alarmed. He suspects that four people from his past could be responsible -- and any one of them is capable of sustained and unspeakable brutality. With the police focusing on the one suspect Strike has essentially ruled out, he and Robin take matters into their own hands and delve into the dark and twisted worlds of the other three men. But as more horrendous acts occur, time is running out for the two of them . . . Career of Evil is the third in J. K. Rowling's highly acclaimed series featuring private detective Cormoran Strike and his assistant Robin Ellacott. A fiendishly clever mystery with unexpected twists around every corner, Career of Evil is also a gripping story of a man and a woman at a crossroads in their personal and professional lives.

5By YoungBradleyTvThis book was very good for Bradito! Why can’t I quit you?
5By Auggie's ManI seriously have a lot of other books on my list to read (and a life to live!), but I find myself chewing through these one after another even after I say to myself “OK, just one more....”. Characters, plot, pacing, and solution are fantastic. OK, well, on to the next with guilty pleasureThat missing something was filled
5By bbsfreshAfter reading the first two Cormoran Strike novels I felt something was missing and that’s why I gave them both a 3 star rating. At the beginning of Career of Evil which starts off from the antagonists point of view I felt this series was finally filling in the missing piece that would take it from average to great. As my rating indicates this is a great readPhenomenal
5By bobworksweekendsThis was a wholly incredible book.Twisted Plot
5By cxlnt55Follow the spiraling, zigzagging & time warped investigation. Strike & Robin do not disappoint as we delve deeper into the essence of their personalities. Great read!Hard to pay attention with this one
3By Candace_SPI was a disappointed with this one. It took me forever to get through, loved her other 3 books thoughGalbraith is a show-off (and I love it)
5By CtoandasanLet me just focus on the author’s propensity to insert rarely used words into the story. Only he (she) can insinuate ‘budgerigar’ into the musings of Striker. Author has this enormous reservoir of vocabulary that she is just raring to share.Wow
5By Sbcg79This had me turning the pages. By far the best in the series. Will have you guessing and playing detective while reading.Fair
3By Bill1369Took me 3 weeks (while reading 2 other books) to finish this book. Not nearly as good as the first two. Primarily because there is just too much extraneous and irrelevant information.
