Amazing
5By Book Monster63This book is amazing. It has everything I love about Norse mythology and more! It has amazing characters, narration, and jokes. I had high expectations for this book and it didn’t disappoint. If you like Percy Jackson or just like Norse mythology, then this is a great read.I may have judged this series to quickly
4By kelvin 3ugeneSo I may have been wrong cause this book is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the first one. Even within the first two chapters i knew I was gonna enjoy this more. I got to see more characters I enjoyed brought into the forefront and more depth..so seeing Randolph and Loki play a big part was neat;. Hearthstone (who could use his own series was great ne the same goes for Sam )!their story within this is great. I even enjoyed Alex who I was never skeptical on but I feel could be a love interest for Mahmud. And even though the sword being sentient is still giddy to me even he had personality The adventures in this book were way more thrilling in this one and you actually felt the stakes. I could’ve done without the tournament giant chapter and the bein fall chapter (I feel they could’ve found out that information form the corpses or have heart stones father or the well dwarf or someone give them that information they found out in those chapters because other than those minor points of knowledge those chapters weren’t needed at all and were just the tv book equivalent for comic relief which is not always needed. Downside, one thing that I’ve picked up on between this book and the last..is that it seems like evey rick riordan book is the same story wise..this follows Percy Jackson..first book looking for an item, second book was a wedding and looking for an items…the repetition is starting to get tedious no variety. And I guess with magnus being related to Anna Beth with her appearances would man the possibility of a crossover which would be cool, but if it’s not a huge event crossover then I don’t see a point in it I really like this book and hopeful the third one holds up or is even betterSoo…
4By Coming4urelbowsheheI like this book, but i personally think that hearth should get a gosh diddly darn girlfriend already!!!Ayo

5By Evawesome5678This might be controversial but this is my favorite Rick series and always stick to Rick honestly having Alex and Magnus be a couple but are just way too shy to understand. Hearth is definitely my favorite character because cool 😎 All the emotions in this book 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤪🤪🤪 also slayyyyyyyyyy I am LizzoLOVE IT!!
5By hbdJbchljdbcfljyabfcaouSo I have stuck with Rick through Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, Trials of Apollo, Magnus Chase, and the Sun and the Star. Can I just say I love this book. Once Alex got into the book, she was immediately my fav character. I hate how people think it’s weird or wrong for people to be gender-fluid and I think that Rick does a great job at acknowledging everyone. He includes people under the LGBQT+ flag, people with disabilities like Hearthstone, and people from deferent cultures in his other booksALEX AND MAGNUS
5By SokeefeForever:)♥️🧡💛💚💙💜 To all the people who are complaining about Alex being gender fluid: It’s just the way that people work. Alex switches genders, gay people exist, love is love. Being gender fluid is a real world thing that needs to be acknowledged. Alex’s experience has just show how hard it can be growing up being told “This is who you are. You stay that way.You have one gender, and it’s the one you were born with“ It’s not ok that people act like being gender fluid is bad. Please don’t be like that. It makes me sick to see people hating on Alex because of their gender.Love it
5By Juno ReaderWhen I got the first book it blew my mind.when I read this one, it just got even better!Fun read
5By tweek522Love this seriesMagnus chase
5By glizzy clanI liked all my of the adventures and twists and I am a big fan of Rick. I read all his series of Percy and the hero’s of Olympus so I know when he tries to entertain us with all the gods. This book is sooooo goood!
5By readergirlHARRYPOTTER!It is amazing!This. Story. Though.
5By CallMiiDaddiiI’m living for this... and honestly I have a feeling Rick deliberately made a gender fluid character to ward off those of you who would judge an entire series (or several series depending from which angle you look at it), OR... and just hear me out... OR he’s trying to humanize trans, gender fluid, and non-binary persons for you and you’re acting like a child who just got told no. Sticking your fingers in your ears and going *la la la I can’t hear you* (iykyk)Response to those calling it: trying too hard to be pc.
5By what the doge? It’s not political in any way to show the existence of transgender and gender fluid individuals. It’s just having a character, giving them something different to mark them before character development, then having fun developing them. It shouldn’t be political to be trans or gender fluid, it should just be a thing about the character showing that these people exist.it also helps to make sure kids aren’t transphobic. If a kid is introduced to gender fluid they might go, “eww,” bc they don’t understand. They would go, “oh that’s cool,” bc they saw a character they admired that was like that. Also, if you think that Norse mythology doesn’t have genderqueer people is clearly an idiot. Look it up, they’re all over the place. Guys, gals, and non binary pals, beirdos and werdios, friends and enemies, say it with me: GENDER ISN’T POLITICS ITS BEING WHO YOU ARE. Good day, sirEhh
2By Dab18402Try’s way to hard to be pc good story it just ruined it for meGood Overall
3By Jamion33.5 Dragged in the middle but I loved the beginning and end.Why did Rick have to make this political?
1By Clayton GreenwellThis series had a lot going for it. It was all ruined for me when the gender-fluid nonsense got involved. It makes me not want to read the third one.Perfect
5By Nakao123This is definitely my most favorite book series of all time. All the characters are all very interesting and unique and the diversity is mind-blowing! There are all sorts of different races, religions, orientations, and abilities and all of them are done so respectfully without the use of stereotypes or assumptions. Poorly known identities are politely explained by the characters themselves, ensuring no stereotypes persist. It’s amazing and I’ve never seen anything like it!Crispy
