Description
THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
Lieutenant Eve Dallas must hunt down the deadly snipers terrorizing Manhattan in this fast-paced In Death thriller from J. D. Robb.
The shots came quickly, silently, and with deadly accuracy. Within seconds, three people were dead at Central Park’s ice-skating rink. The victims: a talented young skater, a doctor, and a teacher. As random as random can be.
Eve Dallas has seen a lot of killers during her time with the NYPSD but never one like this. A review of the security videos reveals that the victims were killed with a tactical laser rifle fired by a sniper, who could have been miles away when the trigger was pulled. And though the list of locations where the shooter could have set up seems endless, the number of people with that particular skill set is finite: police, military, professional killer.
Eve’s husband, Roarke, has unlimited resources—and genius—at his disposal. And when his computer program leads Eve to the location of the sniper, she learns a shocking fact: There were two—one older, one younger. Someone is being trained by an expert in the science of killing, and they have an agenda. Central Park was just a warm-up. And as another sniper attack shakes the city to its core, Eve realizes that though we’re all shaped by the people around us, there are those who are just born evil...

5By kas in gaLOVE this one. The intensity and quickness in which this book moves kept me reading til the wee hours of the morning more than once.Just OK, second half saved it.
3By Kate4581I'm one of those people who is compelled to finish a book once I have started it. About a quarter of the way through, I wanted to give up. The first half of the book is SO SLOW. It picked up in the second half, and I was able to look forward to reading it. If you can get past the monotony of the first half, it gets better.Apprentice in Death
5By JadpowFast paced but doesn’t leave you behind. I loved the touches of tech advances in the future time & place of this book.Outstanding!!!
5By GrandValientAs with all Nora Robert’s J.D.Robb Death series, this was fast paced, twisted, action packed & too enthralling to put down.Excellent book!

5By PamAckerI've read every book in the In Death series (at least once) and this is my new favorite! Great read beginning to end!Weak all-around
1By Drake1034Can't. Stay. Awake. Poor character development and zero investment in seeing the plot through to the end. I'm half way through and can't tell you the first name of the main character. She's a new author for me but I think I'll look elsewhere for my next book.Eh...
3By psychodanieNow, I'm a diehard Eve and Roark fan... and I buy each of these books the moment they come out. I enjoy reading and rereading them, but this one just didn't make the grade...there seemed to be a bit of redundancy throughout, and not a lot of excitement. Not a whole lot of he usual Eve/ Roark dynamic either. Maybe I will like it better when I read it a second time.Doesn't disappoint!!
5By Kimann08Right from the start - hooked!!Apprentice in Death

5By jms1127I would agree with some of the others that this is the best of the series that I have read, but in reality every time a new one comes out I feel it is better than the last.
