This was a sweet romance. Both main characters had past bad memories to overcome before they could move forward. and find their HEA.

"Driftwood Hero" by Lenora Worth is book two in the "Driftwood Bay" series. This is Madeline Sonnier Parker and Sam Hinson's story. Madeline, "Maddie", is still dealing with the hurt from her divorce. She hasn't told her parents the complete story of her divorce. Madeline didn't realize how hard her sister Michelle's wedding was going to be for her, especially with being the "maid of honor". Sam is dealing with difficult times in his life, but keeps everything inside. He is the "best man" for Brodie, Michelle's finance. Sam doesn't do weddings, but is hoping to make it through without embarrassing himself for his good friend. Sam wants Madeline to help him with the "best man" speech. Madeline asks Sam to help her aggravate her ex-husband. This agreement to help each other brings up fears, insecurities, and old hurts. When Sam and Madeline meet they are immediately drawn to each other. This is a clean romance, but it does not take away from the sensuality between them. The intimate interactions between Sam and Michelle were very sensual, a whisper in the ear, a simple touch of his fingers to her lips. Sam is hot! This is a sweet romance between two people dealing with old hurts and fears who get a second chance at true love. This book can be read as a standalone, but you get a better understanding and connection to all the characters if you've read book one. As in Lenora Worth's book one, "Driftwood Cowboy", the description of the scenery and food made the reader feel like you were there and could smell and taste the food. I also loved the cover of this book. Another great book by Lenora Worth. I look forward to reading additional books by Lenora Worth. I received a copy of this book from Tule Publishing for an honest review.

Sam Hinson has been roped into being the Best Man at his friends wedding. After a run in with the Maid of Honor Madeline Sonnier Parker he learns he needs to give a speech at the reception. Sam doesn't like crowds let alone speaking in front of them so the two come to a mutual agreement to help one another. When Sam and Maddie start getting close there pasts start coming back to haunt them. I really enjoyed this book not only seeing Michelle and Brodie from Driftwood Cowboy Marry and start there lives together but also seeing two relationship damaged characters find them selves.

A heartwarming romance, that will leave you smiling at the end. Sam, a recluse war hero has been asked by his best friend to stand up his wedding, who does not do crowds. Madeline, is the sister of the bride, who is just getting out of a bad marriage. Neither are looking for a romance, but as they start to share their past heartbreaks, they soon find an attraction to each other. They try to fight off this attraction but soon love wins over. I really enjoyed these characters, great dialogue between them. A great setting, but then doesn't everyone love weddings, especially a Valentine's wedding, pure love!! This is the second book in the Driftwood series, but can be read as a stand alone. I highly recommend this series. Can't wait to read the next book.
  • Tough Topic, Excellent Story

Lenora covers tough topic's in the Driftwood Series. Sam and Madeline's story talk's about enabler's and abuser's. Sam has a past that affect's his ability to trust, Maddie had a marriage that she tried to save based on perception, starting from the day before the wedding. Maddie had divorced her husband. They had been high school sweethearts and seemed to have the perfect wedding, as Maddie had hid the issues in her marriage. As Maddie and Sam are brought together as the Best Man and Maid of Honor for Michelle and Brodie's Wedding (Driftwood Cowboy) they have more similar background than they realize, as they both work at overcoming their past and moving forward. I enjoyed this story and wished it was a little longer and a little more in depth!! Received an ARC for an honest and fair review.
