Emmitt's Treasure is the companion novel to (Mis)Fortune. I'll admit that out of all the companions, I thought this one would be the most redundant. However, that did not change my excitement of reading it because of Melissa Haag's writing style. Emmitt falls for Michelle much harder and quicker than I interpreted from her story, and his love and devotion are beautiful. Melissa also threw in a few surprises and confirmed some suspicions. Another awesome read and swoon worthy werewolf!

Emmitt’s Treasure by Melissa Haag is an awesome addition to the Judgement of Six Series providing readers with Emmitt’s version of what occurred during (Mis)Fortune, which was told from Michelle’s point of view. As in (Mis)Fortune, the main characters are Michelle, Emmitt, Jim, Nana Wini and Michelle’s little brothers Aden and Liam. If you loved these characters in (Mis)Fortune, you will love them even more in Emmitt’s Treasure (ET)! Melissa reveals more information about each of the characters in ET and we get to see sides of them that we had not in the other book. I loved Emmitt in (Mis)Fortune. He was sexy, caring, sweet, funny, devoted and patient. He went out of his way to do everything he possibly could for Michelle and her brothers. In Emmitt’s Treasure, Emmitt is SO MUCH MORE! Wow, what a great guy! I liked seeing that he had a difficult time dealing with things and was not perfect. Michelle is a terrified 19-year-old girl running away from dangerous people with the sole responsibility for caring for her two brothers and keeping the three of them safe. She is sheltered, brave, beautiful inside and out, frightened, caring and determined. We also got to see her through Emmitt’s eyes, which was awesome. Jim. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE JIM! I liked Jim in (Mis)Fortune. He was the funny, diversion that you just had to love. In Emmitt’s Treasure, we get to see much more of Jim and it was AMAZING! Jim is very smart, caring, sweet, loveable, determined, funny and amazing. I loved getting to know more about him and I want to see much more of Jim in the next books. The book flows nicely between action and building romance. It also incorporates background information into the story smoothly. Even though I knew what would happen, I found myself routing for Emmitt and being devastated when things did not go as he hoped that they would. I love companion books when the first book is written from one point of view. They provide insight into the other side of the story and this one gives the other side of the story and additional information that left me stunned! I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait for the next in the series! Five STARS * * * * *
  • More than a companion novel

Man. This book was amazing. It was romantic and interesting and captivating. It will hold your attention from the very first page until the very end. It isn't a simple retelling of Michelle's story; there's so much more here. Emmitt is a much more complex guy than he seems in Michelle's book. In Michelle's book, she's so busy worrying about Blake catching up to her that she doesn't exactly consider what Emmitt's up to. Here we see, and he is not idle. He's a prominent member of the pack. He also has a lot of wooing to do in order to get Michelle to open up to him and trust him. It's almost exhausting hearing about, but it's also sweet and endearing. We also see lots of Jim and Nana Wini (with lots of funny moments). Any expectations you have coming into this story will be surpassed.
  • Love the unique perspective

I have loved every book written by Melissa Haag. This one is no exception. It would have been easy to just retell the story from the male perspective without adding anything new. This book did not take the easy route. It offers additional, previously unknown, views into the pack interactions and the many individuals who work tirelessly to make the pack a success. I highly recommend this latest installment as it is a must read in my opinion.

Emmitt's Treasure by Melissa Haag is the companion novel to (Mis)Fortune, the second book in the Judgement of the Six series, and is told from the perspective of Emmitt Cole. He is reluctantly making his way home from service in the Army back to the responsibilities and duties that await him with his 'people', a small group of werewolves in Montana. Along the way he assists the exhausted and terrified Michelle and her two young brothers. The story unfolds from his point of view and gives great insight to his character, the depth of his devotion to Michelle, and his relationship with his brother, Jim. Although patience becomes his mantra throughout the story, the author does a great job conveying his real sense of desperation to protect, claim, and share his life with his Mate. This book includes more interaction between a wider variety of characters than the previous companion novel, Clay's Hope, due to Emmitt's larger family group. Though it is not necessary to read his mother's story to enjoy this book, it is fun to compare Thomas' and Emmitt's similarities. The author left the reader wanting more in the end and greatly anticipating what happens for Jim. Overall, another great addition to the Judgement of the Six series. Well Melissa has done it again, another fabulous book. The judgement of the six books are so great. They take a popular genre and make it new. This is not the average warewolf book. These are books you will read over and over again. I highly recommend this series. Now about this book. Emmit's Treasure goes hand in hand with (Mis)fortune, Michelle's story. It covers the same timelines, and gives you Emmitt's pov. But It does so much more. You get a better understanding of Emmitt and his parents expectations of him, you get to watch through his eyes as he gives everything he has to get the fear to leave Michelle's eyes. You also get much more insight into Jim and Nana Winnie. Turns out Jim isn't just a goodball, he has a serious side too. This is a must read. Teaser: cookies!!!! Only problem with this book is you will be unable to put it down!

I loved hearing Emmitt's point of view concerning his relationship with Michelle. It was romantic and immediate. Being immediately connected to Michelle, they had to overcome so many outside influences, including their own doubts and fears, in order to become what they were meant to be to one another. In the Judgement of the Six series, we learn from each of the women what it's like to meet her mate; they go through many trials as they fight not only to figure out what part they play in the pack community and the life of her mate, but how she will survive attacks from outside sources bent on destroying not only the pack but humans also. This is the story from the male POV, and it is so sweet to see the emotions and thought processes that he goes through during this initial period also. You see why he's so torn between following in his father's footsteps and becoming a pack leader and the responsibilities of keeping his mate safe and fighting against the Urbat. I found it to be intense, passionate and tender. I always enjoy seeing a love story from a male point of view, and the werewolf is such an alpha position to see the emotions from which makes it that much more poignant. As much as I adored Emmitt in Michelle's original story, I fell in love with him when I got to see their love affair from his POV. Melissa Haag has a story telling gift and did a wonderful job of telling this one from a male's perspective. I loved it and even knowing the story per se, it made such a beautiful difference to see it through his eyes.
  • Swoon Level Midnight: Another addictive read from Melissa Haag

The Judgment of the Six series is like a can of pringles: you can't read just one. Needless to say, after I finished my pre-release copy of Emmitt's Treasure, I went back and re-read (Mis)fortune. Then I re-read ET, then I started on Clay's Hope and am smack dab in the middle of reading the whole series over again. Melissa Haag has firmly planted herself within the top of my auto-buy list with each new release. My notes on this one range from swoon level 4 to swoon level midnight, and from giggle snort to snorfle pee. It's laugh out loud funny at times, deadly serious at others, and majorly romantic in brief instances and then all at once. Emmitt is reserved and there's a lot more to him than what we get to see in Michelle's pov, so much so that I was wrong about a few things that he did or thought and now love him way more than should be possible for someone who isn't technically real. If you are not a big fan of paranormal books, you might still enjoy these. While the story is very much about gifted women and their werewolf companions, it's so much more than that. It's about family, destiny, love and courage. It's about standing up for those you love and for what you believe in, even in the face of grave danger. All it takes is a little support and you can do a lot more than you ever dreamed possible. Start reading the series for free today and find out for yourself how easy it is to become enthralled by the world of the Judgment of the Six.
