Description

Luke’s been kicked in the teeth by fate enough to know: nice guys finish last. He’s done being nice and waiting for his due.

Finding Bethony, another potential Mate, was supposed to be his chance at a true Mate. However, she’s young and afraid and needs time to get to know him first. Bethony has different plans. She’s willing to Claim Luke, but only to stop her terrifying dreams; she’s not interested in love or romance.

The closer the pair get to the Compound, the deeper the danger becomes. Luke isn’t the only wolf looking for Bethi. He must choose between Bethi’s safety and peace of mind, or his dream of finding a true Mate.

Think you know the whole story to Bethi and Luke, think again! This book answers the question everyone was thinking 'why the big wait' and it certainly delivers it masterfully. More depth added to a beloved character and a fresh perspective on Bethi's powers. The same twists and turns will still have you on the edge of your seat wanting to read just one more chapter. I read it in one day and my only complaint is there wasn't any more! Luke's dream definitely lives up to the high bar the other men's books have placed. Melissa Haag blends real life problems with fantasy so well, I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of the JOS series.

I have been reading this series since they started to come out. I'm hooked. The story lines flow and not too many grammar errors. I also like the fact that they are PG-13. Can't wait till the 6th judgement books come out and I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the next companion book. Please keep them coming. Great work!

Luke's Dream is the latest companion novel for Melissa Haag's Judgement of the Six series and offers a hilariously different and insightful alternate point of view for (Un)Wise. One should read the other books in the series prior to reading this novel. Although the story begins with Luke's disappointment that Gabby chose Clay instead of him, he quickly recognizes his Mate in Bethi, whom he unfortunately thinks is too young for him. His ensuing pursuit of her in order to ensure her safety is both endearing and frustrating in equal measure. His internal monologue is witty and successfully draws one in. His life outside of a pack allows him to view situations from a perspective not previously explored in the other books in the series. Readers learn more about the Forlorn and possibilities around the reasons for the current state of the werewolves in this novel. Melissa Haag continues to deliver refreshing and new ideas for this genre that keep this reader coming back for more! An advanced copy of the book was provided in exchange for an honest review.
  • Companion book worth reading!

Once again, I am impressed at Melissa Haag's ability to impress me with a retelling of one of her Judgement of Six series from the male's point of view! Luke's mind well conveyed, with his British vocabulary, sarcastic rebelliousness and his devotion, love and empathy for Bethi, even with all her mystery, lies and stubbornness. Most importantly though, Ms Haag was able to keep me so captivated that I took an extra long lunch at work to finish the action-packed climax, even though I've read Bethi's story (Un)Wise many a time (my favorite in that series). It felt like a completely different tale, taken from Luke's POV, and more importantly that added information that was missing from the Judgement book. It was hard to feel Luke's helplessness with Bethi's struggles, but I also wanted to shake him at times for his misplaced protective chivalry. Well-written, dark but funny, romantic, snarky and witty, absolutely action-packed, and mentally captivating. A great werewolf read that definitely adds to the Judgement of Six world.

We got to know these characters in (Un)Wise, or did we? Sure we know how Luke’s actions seemed in both Hope(less) and in Clay’s Hope as well as in (Un)Wise, but we never really got to know the man…until now. Luke’s story follows Bethi’s fairly closely, but his perspective on everything takes the things that were hilarious in her story and made them a little more serious. And something I seemed annoying in hers to be positively sweet and funny in his. This is truly a companion story. It’s fun to read these books side by side and it’s almost like watching things unfold in split screen. Luke as a man, I wanted to throttle, hug, pinch his cheeks, and throttle again. I wasn’t sure Bethi could seem more fragile than she did in her own book, but it was interesting to see the fragility and strength that Luke picked up in her. Ms. Haag writes these companion stories in such a way that though we recognize what is going on, it’s spun in such a new fashion that it doesn’t feel like it’s being repeated or regurgitated. Instead, it feels fresh and new with these different perspectives. And these men as SO different than their mates think that they are, and that’s so cool and interesting and how it really is in life. So, would I recommend this book? I would, but you really need to read Hope(less), Clay’s Hope, (Mis)Fortune, Emmitt’s Treasure, and (Un)Wise before reading this one.

Another amazing companion book by Melissa Haag. "Luke's Dream" the companion book to (Un)Wise was everything I was looking forward too and more. Luke is much more charming and I loved reading the growth of his relationship with Bethi from his POV. I was laughing out loud throughout my read. There are so many feels you experience however; heartbreak, joy, sadness, worry, and humor. Melissa Haag does an amazing job bringing you into the story as if you are living it yourself. Every story has two sides to it and I love how Melissa is incorporating the men's side of the story with the companion books to The Judgement of the Six Books. You gain more understanding of each couples story with both POVs and in addition you gain more of the overall story of the series. Some questions and ideas I had about the whole story was answered or hinted towards my suspicions in Luke's Dream. I truly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. Can't wait for the next one.

I've been waiting to read this book ever since I started to read (Un)Wise. I have always wanted to know what was going on in Lukes's head at the beginning of the book when he was following Bethi. I was not disappointed. This book made me fall in love with Luke even more. I loved this book and I can't wait for the next book.

Luke and Bethi are my favorite Judgment couple, so I have been DYING to get my hands on Luke's book. It definitely didn't disappoint! Bethi was always the funny one, while Luke came off as stern and uptight.....but in Luke's book we learn his personality actually is pretty similar to Bethi's. He's just much better at hiding it than she is. The things we learn from these companion novels blows my mind every time. I continue to be in awe of how Melissa seamlessly weaves all the stories together while still adding new details. This book may be an alternate POV but it in no way feels like the same book. Way to go Melissa. You've left me once again biting my nails until the next book!
