Description

From the New York Times bestselling author of Fooling Around comes a steamy novel about a pampered princess who’s starting over—and the hot guy next door who knows exactly how to melt that tiara right off.

Alison Davies used to just be a trophy wife. Now she’s just flat broke. Thanks to an ironclad prenup, she’s worse off than she was before the day she rushed down the aisle with a wealthy jerk eight years ago. After her steep fall from riches to rags, Alison refuses to shackle herself to any man who treats her like a possession—no matter how good he looks in a pair of well-worn jeans, or how his muscles ripple while he’s carrying her couch.

Underneath his rugged exterior, Rob West is a gentleman. So when he sees his beautiful new neighbor moving in, he’s going to help her out no matter how loudly she protests. In fact, Alison’s determination to go it alone just strengthens his resolve—and his desire to find out what makes her tick. But after one spur-of-the-moment tumble in the sheets, it’s clear that their connection goes way deeper. And that Rob won’t be happy until Alison surrenders to the passion they share.

Includes an excerpt from another Loveswept title.

3.5 Stars Alison leaves her husband of eight years because there is no love in her marriage and she's nothing more than a trophy to him. Determined to stand on her own two feet, she moves into the family home that was left to her after the death of her parents. Her first day in town, she meets her neighbor, Rob, but refuses any help from him in her quest for independence. Rob is drawn to people who need him. When his new, attractive neighbor moves in, he has to find a way to get to know her better and get her to go on a date with him. I had difficulty connecting to the characters in this story. There was a lot of talk in the book about the pull that the characters had toward each other but I just never felt it. I liked that there was dual POV. I loved the little notes that Rob left for Alison every morning at breakfast. *This is my voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy*

After eight years Alison Davies has had enough. She's tired of being the "trophy wife" of a complete jerk. Yes, she has everything she needs and more but it's just not enough. So, regardless of the prenup she signed she wants out. Now! Basically penniless Alison is ready to start a new life. Moving to a new town and getting a job in a small diner Alison is finally getting to experience life. Learning to do things for herself gives her little thrills no one would ever understand. So maybe there is a gorgeous, very helpful guy across the street. So maybe he's a little more than interested in Alison. She can resist. She should resist. Until she doesn't..... I really enjoyed this story. It was fun to watch as Alison learns to be independent and strong. As she slowly learns that someone helping doesn't mean she's dependent on them the relationship between herself and Rob changes. These two worked well together. I definitely recommend this one!

Trophy Wife by Noelle Adams is an interesting story. Alison Davies was a trophy wife before she became disillusioned with only being a pretty face and figure to accompany her husband to events. He was controlling, in that he did not want her to work on the jewelry that gave meaning to her life and he set limits on her being able to take college classes, online only, to earn her degree. Alison divorced her wealthy husband and their prenup left her worse off, financially than the day she married the wealthy jerk eight years prior. Alison escapes to a house left to her by her parents in a small town, an hour away. She is determined to not attach herself to any man who would treat her like a possession nor depend on anyone but herself. Rob West is a true southern gentleman despite his hard working looks. When he sees his beautiful new neighbor moving in, he’s going to offer to help her no matter how loudly she might protest. Alison’s determination to do it all herself drives him to figure out why she acts the way she does. After one evening, when these two surrender to each other and it’s clear they are deeply attracted to each other. Will Rob be able to convince Alison to take a chance on him? This was a fun, wonderful and entertaining story with very likeable and authentic characters you want to cheer on, hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written with complex characteristics. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down. I recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

A really sweet story by Noelle Adams. I enjoyed reading about Allison and Rob. The notes he leaves her were awesome. It took a while for Rob to let loose enough to get to the nitty gritty, but I loved the HEA and the epilogue!

Allison, a recently divorced trophy wife is trying to make it on her own in a small town. Her ex-husband made sure she was always dependent on him and was an all around nasty man. He took advantage of an 18 year old whose family just lost their fortune. He promised to take care of her but really just suppressed her in their 8 years of marriage. Allison finally breaks free from his hold and moves into her grandmas house in a small town where she meets her neighbor Rob. These two were cute together but started off on all the wrong reasons. By the time they both started feeling more, both their insecurities got in the way. The story was about personal growth and what people would do when faced with a choice of opening up to possible hurt to reach for love. It was an adorable story. Rob was cute with the way he wanted to take care of Allison. She just feared the trophy wife label too much that it kept getting in the way of their relationship. Rob only wanted people to see him strong and capable which got in the way of Allison seeing him need her like she needed him. overall, cute story! ARC provided by NetGalley.
