Excellent read, well written, wonderful characters, an interesting tale of love & regrets, by all means give this one a try!

I don't appreciate it when a reader is not told that this book is the first of about 7 in a series and that it ends almost in the middle of a chase scene. Other series where books can be almost standalones yet continue the epic journey are acceptable. This type of marketing isn't.

Really liked this book. Probably would’ve given it four or five stars if it hadn’t ended on such a cliffhanger. I hate when books do that to get you to buy the next one.

Ugh. Hate when I download a book that turns out to be a cliffhanger with no hea. I feel like there should be a warning i think he blurb. I wouldn’t have gotten it and I certainly wouldn’t have finished. The language used in this 16th century book is far too modern. Nothing about it felt old. I had so many issues but cared enough to finish only to be let down by the lack of hea. Not picking up the next. Very disappointed.

A quick read.

The Farrier's Daughter, book one of the Irish Witch series is a page turner. Loved the characters of Alainn and Killian, they have known each other for years, now they have fallen in love. Alainn is a very strong willed witch that is not afraid to stand up for herself. Loved the magic and romance. Wonderful history and description that will keep you entertained. This is a cliffhanger, so get ready to read the next book in the series. This is not my typical read but so happy that I read out of my comfort zone. Off to read the next installment, The Witch's Daughter.

"The Farrier's Daughter" by Leigh Ann Edwards is Volume one in the "Irish Witch" series. This is not a standalone and continues in the next book in this series. This is Alainn McCreary and Killian O'Brien's story. Alainn is a healer and has a hard time keeping quiet. Morag, a healer too, took Alainn under her wings and trained her in the use of herbs and portions. Usually girls no matter what status they have in life do not get an education, but Alainn was able to attend classes with the chieftain's sons and nephew. The chieftain's wife convinced her husband to allow Alainn to receive training since she was a healer. It was in their best interest to provide her with this education since Morag was getting old and they needed someone to carry on for her. Killian's mom and dad are gone so he is being raised by his uncle who is the chieftain. Alainn and Killian because friends. At first he sees her as a sister but that begins to change. Alainn has had feelings for him too. The problem is that they do not hold the same status in society so they can never be together. So, how will things turn out for Killian and Alainn? If you are into fantasy and witchcraft romance, then this is a story that you might enjoy. This is a different story than I normally read. It took me a while to get into the story. Alainn and Killian were likable characters, but there were some pretty reprehensible characters. I received a copy of this book from Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review

I typically don't read much fantasy romance, but I really enjoyed this story. The characters were all well written and I really loved our heroine. The story continues in the next book of the series, so if you really don't like unresolved issues, you may want to have the next book(s) available before you start this one. There are some pretty detestible characters in the story, but the hero and heroine are very likable - along with the cook and healer.
