Description
Tara Shiloh knows she’s not a drug addict. She’s positive she’s a good mother and hard worker. So why is she in an alley with a needle in her arm? Waking up in the hospital without her son is terrifying. Being told she can’t have him back nearly crushes her. With her memory spotty and the circumstances incriminating, Tara must fight to learn the truth and wrestle with the idea that maybe her son is better off without her.
Reid Holliston defends guilty people for a living and it's slowly killing him. He’s certain there is no such thing as a truly blameless client anymore. When his phone rings with a voice from his childhood his jaded views make him certain Tara is just one more criminal claiming innocence. But even his skepticism isn’t enough to keep him away.
Best friends from a lifetime ago, the two must find a way to trust each other again in spite of how the years apart have changed them. Can a promise made in childhood be enough to save them both?
Reviews
Ok but not good enough. Disappointing
1By sheiachieIt was ok but the ending was literally anticlimactic and also disappointing. I kinda had hopes for it but it fizzled out the more I readLoved it
4By Therapychic07Easy read. Flows well. Great story linePredictable
1By ThilmCoSorry to say but this story was way too predictable. Dragging through repeated dialogue made it unbearable. Disappointing because I have enjoyed other stories by this author.A strange love story with a bizarre twist
4By adpantanoGood plot if a bit unbelievable.Three Seconds To Rush
5By Pins4Loved the book! Can’t wait to read more of your books. Thanks!Slow at first and pretty repetitive
4By Gery679It was slow at first but the story had a little bit of romance and suspense which kept me wanting to read. I like books that when the story ends it ends there and there isn’t a book 2 or book 3.Amazing novel, it touches my heart because it ended in a happy, dramatic way
5By Ahmed 1411It deserves more than five starsThree Seconds to Rush
5By Spaghetti & MeatballsFabulous, gripping story filled with humanity as well as inhumanity. I’m hooked.Balanced energy
5By WesterreadI appreciate this author’s style - lots of relational dynamic without detailing the story for an overly romantic sideline. Glad she kept it mystery/action focused.Rushed ending in 'Three Seconds To Rush’
4By OlderheartThe ending felt rushed. The (so call) romance between Reid and Tara was nonexistent and then to make such a life changing decision at the end...I couldn’t buy it, because the writer honestly didn’t sell it well. Her son was her world..yet she’s making this huge decision and Reid and her son had zero interaction! We have no clue what a relationship between the two would be like. I liked the friendship they shared when they were young and the mystery was well-written (which is where the writer focused her efforts); at best, they renewed that friendship. I better stop because the more I write..I want to drop another star.
