Description

WANTED: Single dad needs nanny--In more ways than one.

Martin "Brick" Bricker is living the good life. He's playing the sport he loves, has all the women he can handle, and parties like a rock star.  At twenty-six, he has no interest in slowing down or taking anything seriously —except hockey, of course.

Then a knock at his door changes everything. Suddenly he's the single father to a five-year-old daughter he didn't know he had, and he's trading his playboy ways for Barbies.

Amelia Stacey struggles to make ends meet and juggles her day-care job with a full load of college classes. When she's offered a temporary, two-week nanny position making more money than she imagines, she jumps at the chance. Before she knows it, she's in over her head, not just with her five-year-old charge but with the girl's hot single father.

Brick always goes after what he wants, and he wants Amelia. Only responsible Amelia doesn't want anything to do with the party boy. Struggling with fatherhood and his unexplainable attraction to his nanny, Brick has to figure out where his daughter and Amelia fit into his life. If they fit at all.

But one thing's for sure: Brick can't block this shot straight to his heart.

Brick starts out a rich douche bag. Life comes back to bite him in the butt, and force hm to grow up. He realized what really matters and goes full throttle to get it back. This is a good love story. Would recommend this to others!

I absolutely hated Brick when this story started. By the end of the book I felt sorry for the poor sap. Having read the other books in the series I have followed Brick as the guy who hates clothes and loves the cold. I learned why in this book and was surprised to say the least as to why he loves the cold. Jami delivered a book I couldn't put down even with life happening around me. Amelia and Macy were introduced in the this read. My heart hurt for Macy from the time Brick opened the door to her. Amelia is such a strong person to have kept this little clan together. Definitely going on my read again list! Thank you Jami for the hours of reading and enjoyment this book brought.

I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. This is the next book in the Seattle Sockeyes series. This book is about Martin “Brick” Bricker, the goalie. He is a fun-loving guy, no attachments, no commitments, just playing hockey and having fun. One afternoon all of that changes when he answers the door to “Daddy!!!”. Brick doesn’t have any kids, well not that he knows of anyway, but all of that changes today. Brick is now responsible for a 5-year-old little girl and has no clue what to do, he doesn’t even really like kids. He is pretty sure this is all a mistake, but he needs to go on a road trip so he hires an emergency nanny for while he is away. Amelia is a student who is working for her sister-in-law’s day care and agrees to help Brick out. I enjoyed Goaltending, it was a journey for Brick, to come to terms with the fact that he was a father and that he really wanted to be a dad. I liked watching Brick grow from a spoiled playboy into a man wanting to keep his family. I would recommend this book, if you read the series, you got a peek into some previous characters as well as a look into what is coming in the future.

A big time player meets his match when he's suddenly answering to Daddy! The adorable creation of this little family carries the story easily. Well developed characters, lots of family drama and an adorable kid we instantly fall in love with! Martin "Brick" Bricker is living the good life when it all comes tumbling at his feet with one knock at the door. He's suddenly a father to to a five year old that he knew nothing about, and his partying days are over! Amelia Stacey is working hard to make ends meet while attending a full schedule at college. She can't stand a player, but she can't resist the money he's offering when Brick wants to hire her to be his daughter's temporary nanny. He's hot, but she can resist temptation ... no problem!
