I found all the books in this series to have moments were they were boring and slow. This book, especially, was difficult to get through.

This book is the 3rd book in this series and it is Sophie Jordan's story. Since losing her parents at a young age, Sophie has always dealt with things by trying to control the situation and she especially loves knowing all the facts. Being the middle child, Sophie tends to keep things to herself and thankfully Spencer has always looked out for her. I just adored Sophie, probably because I have a daughter that tends to act just like her. Sophie doesn't like to take any chances because she cannot handle the pains that would come from losing. She has to over analyze EVERYTHING before she can make any decisions. Sophie likes everything in her life to be simple and orderly....she doesn't like anything spontaneous. Sophie has always been attracted to Riley Nash but his carefree lifestyle has kept her from acting on that attraction. When the news that Spencer Atkins is gay is revealed, Sophie is the only owner in town at the offices of The Hot Zone and Athletes Only and has to handle the crisis. Spencer is avoiding her phone calls and she is lost on what to do. Imagine her surprise when Riley comes into the office looking for Spencer. When Riley reveals why, the two of them set out on a course to find him. I really enjoyed how Riley was able to loosen Sophie up a little. Together he showed her that she can have some fun times in her life while being spontaneous. I really liked how he just understood Sophie and her crazy tendencies. I also liked the story with Riley's daughter, Lizzie. It added to the story pretty well. I also LOVED Spencer's crazy sisters. I wish they'd get their own story! It was interesting seeing why Spencer kept all of his secrets and how Riley's family dealt with everything. Overall I really enjoyed this book and it was fun to re-read it!

4 1/2 STARS! The third sister gets her chance to shine in Carly Phillips third book The Hot Zone series! I liked the sweet interaction between these two even before things turned steamy, They are an unlikely pair, but so good together when they finally let their guard down! Publicist Sophie Jordan is at the top of her game when she has everything scheduled and running like clockwork, but in the current chaos that is erupting around her at The Hot Zone after the merger with Spencer Atkins’ company, she’s at her wits end. One sister is on out on maternity leave, the other is on her honeymoon … Uncle Yank is unavailable, and Spencer has all of a sudden vanished after a life-long secret has been exposed to the media! Star Quarterback Riley Nash has his own reasons for needing to get in touch with Spencer, and he’s determined to stick close to Sophie until he does so. He knows Sophie has a little crush on him, and he can’t deny he feels a special kind of attraction when he’s near her too. Emotional, Sexy, Funny and so relateable this Opposites attract romance was so riveting and entertaining it just grabs hold of your senses and takes you on a romantic journey bringing together two people that are in desperate need of one another to reach their happily ever after. Sophie is so sweet and crazy smart, sexy, while Riley is alpha male, uber confident and off the charts hot on the outside they are both very vulnerable and afraid to loose on the inside. (control issues abound ... LOL) Family being of top importance to both is the glue that starts the undeniable bond between them. Loved watching the last Jordan sister fall. Looking forward to more Hot Zone adventures.

I love each of the Jordan sisters and was so glad to finally see Sophie find happiness. Each of the girls dealt with the death of their parents when they were children in different ways. Sophie analyzes everything and tries to find the best way to handle life without getting hurt. So much so that she tends to run from anything that doesn't fit in her perceived comfort zone. Riley Nash is just that sort of man. His life is so outside the box, nothing about it fits into Sophie's comfortable existence. However, there is also just something about him that Sophie is drawn to and attracted to in a way she has never been before. I love Riley and Sophie as a couple. Yes they were pretty different, but they worked for me. Riley was much more laid back than Sophie, and she lived more by the rules, but they totally worked as a couple for me. The fact they had smoking hot chemistry and had trouble keeping their hands off each other added to my love, but I really loved they each could be themselves around the other. Hot Item is another winner in the Hot Zone series. I loved this series when I read it when it was originally released and loved it every bit as much with the updates. Ms. Phillips new voice totally shines through with this old favorite series.

This is book 3 in the Hot Zone series and it features middle Jordan sister, Sophie and star quarterback, Riley Nash. Even though these two are the main characters in this story, there's so much more going on. Problems with Riley's 13-year-old daughter, his long-lost biological father, Spencer Atkins and his mighty scandalous stepfather, Harlan Nash, just to name a few. With all that going on, I think it took Sophie a little longer to come to her senses regarding her on or off relationship with Riley. Especially knowing that you can't compete with a man's teenage daughter that is spoiled rotten! I am loving this entire series and the amazing characters. I can't wait for book 4.

I truly enjoyed reading Hot Item, the third book in Carly Phillips’ Hot Zone series, once again. I loved how Sophie Jordan tries to overcome her fears in order to help Riley Nash, quarterback for the NY Giants and client of her uncle. Sophie is the middle sister who has a need for control after the death of their parents. Sophie helps Riley in locating his biological father who has gone missing. As these two spend time together Sophie breaks her rule about not dating athletes as she falls under Riley’s spell. Sophie’s fears cause her to run away from the man who loves her. Now she needs to decide which is more important, control and loneliness or love. This book is not the sexy story as are Phillips’ more recent books, but still has those loveable characters that you want to cheer on, hoping for their happy ending. The characters were well written and authentic. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I genuinely enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down. I highly recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This is the third book in Carly Phillips Hot Zone Series, Sophie Jordan is the middle sister and she end up working along side Riley Nash a QB and client of her uncles but there's some secrets coming out that they both are trying to keep quiet and contained. But they also have a lot of chemistry but they are also totally different. One of the things I love about Carly Phillips books is that you get to read about all of the other characters from previous books but if you haven't read them you aren't lost. Plus there are new character like the crazy aunts. I recommend to read this book or reread this one since it is a rerelease. There is one more book in this series.

Hot Item is book 3 in the Hot Zone series and it's Sophie's turn at Uncle Yank's match making schemes! Have I mentioned I love all these characters? I want to be apart of them! Sophie is cool, calm, under control and doesn't date clients. But when Riley becomes a major part of her world? Those rules of hers fly out the window. There's no denying these two had chemistry for dayyysssss! They were burning up the pages and I just couldn't put the book down. I loved the aspect that Riley's daughter added to the story. Sophie had to deal with not only Riley as an alpha man and sports star, but as a dad too! That added a whole different element to their story! But I loved how Sophie was still her same, take charge personality! As per usual, Carly Phillips has written another story that made me laugh, swoon, and fall in love! Happy reading!!!!
