The Perfect Mother
By Aimee Molloy
THE INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER AND MOST ANTICIPATED BOOK OF THE SUMMER—SOON TO BE A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE STARRING SCANDAL’S KERRY WASHINGTON
An addictive psychological thriller about a group of women whose lives become unexpectedly connected when one of their newborns goes missing.
A night out. A few hours of fun. That’s all it was meant to be.
They call themselves the May Mothers—a group of new moms whose babies were born in the same month. Twice a week, they get together in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park for some much-needed adult time.
When the women go out for drinks at the hip neighborhood bar, they want a fun break from their daily routine. But on this hot Fourth of July night, something goes terrifyingly wrong: one of the babies is taken from his crib. Winnie, a single mom, was reluctant to leave six-week-old Midas with a babysitter, but her fellow May Mothers insisted everything would be fine. Now he is missing. What follows is a heart-pounding race to find Midas, during which secrets are exposed, marriages are tested, and friendships are destroyed.
Thirteen days. An unexpected twist. The Perfect Mother is a "true page turner." —B.A. Paris, author of Behind Closed Doors
Perfect mother4By Kathy 60Lost me at times but all around good book. I enjoyed it
A Scattered Tale2By mommykitteh_1Because this book had good reviews I decided to read it. The problem I had in the beginning was the same problem I had in the middle and end: It was scattered, disjointed and confusing, and I found myself having a hard time focusing on the story at times. There were too many characters and they were not really well-developed or likable. So many things in this book we’re completely unrealistic to the point that it was distracting and annoying. Definitely not a favorite and I would not recommend it.
StoryWillow5By Unknown ginger 71Well developed storyline and intrigue!! Can’t wait for this author to publish more stories!
Wouldn’t recommend2By Bhrd83This book started well but towards the end it felt rushed. Almost as if a part of the book was missing.
The Perfect Mother1By motherofthemallDon’t bother! Not worth the money. Too confusing
Not worth the time1By McguirebearThis book was fractured and hopelessly meandering. I read 3-5 books a week and I’m sorry I wasted time on this one
Wonderfully Thrilling5By Mrs. McFeetersIt began slow but necessarily set the stage for a page turner. The perfect mother, was a perfect puzzle. You may have the edges all in place but the final picture doesn’t come together until the final page
Boring1By GeorgiaAugustaI cannot believe I paid for this. Undeveloped characters and an elementary plot make this novel challenging.
Waste of money2By Dr.Mrs.AfiI don’t know what the hype is about. I could not wait to end this book. It was annoying, confusing, and amateurish the way it weaved in and out of the different perspectives. It is not a thriller or mystery. When I found out what happened to Midas, it was a letdown. I didn’t care. I was only happy that I was almost done with the book. There was so much time telling stories and very little time building suspense. I wish I hadn’t bought it.
