While this is the third book in this series, it was my first and it can definitely be read as a standalone. I didn't feel lost in any way by not reading the first two but I definitely want to read them after finishing this. Kai is new to town and is taken to Society X by one of his new coworkers. He's not really interested in being there or being a member so when it's offered, he fills out the application in the most ridiculous things thinking he'll never return. Alex has little experience with men. When her friend tells her about Society X she decides to give it a try. She has decided that everything she's ever wanted to try, she will try here under the cloak of anonymity. The connection between Kai and Alex was immediate. If you ever had a doubt that fate truly exists, this book will make you a believer. This story had a ton of heat and fantastic characters. I can't wait to go back and read the first two books in this series!! *This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*

Out of all the Society X novels, Play Room is hands down my favorite. I loved Alexandria and Kai together. They were sweet almost from the moment they met. This series was addictive from the start, and although it's over I look forward to what these two authors come up with next.

Heidi McLaughlin & L.P. Dover deliver once again!! Loved the latest in the Society X series! Okay let's break this down shall we?! Play Room is the last (I'm pretty sad about this actually) in the Society X books and this one continues the exploration in this third of the private rooms. The room brings together Kai Robicheau and Alexandria Miller. Kai is definitely reluctantly checking out Society X, while Alex wants the anonymity and freedom that the private room offers. While the series may revolve around a sex club, the story wasn't really so much about that as it was taking a chance, trying something new and then connecting to the other person. That was consistent thru the series, the connection to their partner. It was about exploration and realizing what worked for the individual and knowing when something felt wrong, like for Kai. Kai was reluctant and at times turned off by the club, but he is drawn to his partner and what he feels when he's with her. The same was true for Alex as she just wants the freedom to explore his sexual fantasies without judgment. When she and Kai meet outside the club, they feel that same draw but are confused by it in a way because of "their partner at X" and what they get from the other there. The story was very balanced and the writing between Heidi and L is so seamless. I truly liked both of these characters. Loved the ease and comfort they have with each other, all the while trying to navigate their feelings amid hiding the secret of the play room. The club was a catalyst, but fate had them connecting in multiple ways even if they didn't know it. I so loved this series and hope you'll give it a chance!
