Description

Fake dating a hot baseball player—what could go wrong?

When aspiring actress Lucy Younger arrives on Hazel Island to film her first movie, she thinks she’s finally caught her big break. What could be better than spending her summer on a beautiful island while catching the attention of her mega-famous costar?

Enter Carter Roberts: baseball player, playboy, and the most obnoxious, arrogant, and sexy man Lucy has ever had the misfortune to meet.

Soon Carter offers her a role she can’t turn down: play his fake girlfriend and make her costar wild with jealousy.

Never one to turn down a dare, Lucy agrees. But when she starts to fall for Carter, suddenly what was just a game becomes all too real.

After a shoulder injury benches him for the season, star pitcher Carter Roberts is set adrift. When he travels to Hazel Island for work, he doesn’t expect to get anything out of it except an extended vacation.

Until he meets a pretty little spitfire who sets his blood aflame with every barb she throws at him. Lucy thinks she’ll be able to resist him after she agrees to their bargain, but Carter knows that when he kisses her, she’ll forget all about her costar.

Carter soon realizes he wants more than this made-up relationship. But unless he tears down the walls surrounding his heart, he’ll lose the only woman who’s ever mattered.

It was a good romance story with a lot of egos and misunderstandings. The characters were good and the storyline interesting.

Way too many f-bombs. Would have been a good storyline without them.

My One and Only by Iris Moreland ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lucy Younger had been trying to make it a n Hollywood, but, she was just about to give up and go home. Then, she got an amazing break, to co-star with the actor she'd been crushing on for the past year, Hayden Masterson! Carter Roberts, after being temporarily sidelined from playing baseball, takes a job being the executive producer of a new film. His friend, Anthony Bertram, was funding this movie and wanted to get his friend to do something besides wallow in liquor and women, so he made him the executive producer, even though Carter knew nothing about the job. When Lucy first meets Carter, she finds him to be arrogant and conceited, and thinks he's only a lowly assistant. She doesn't like Carter, she only has her sights set on Hayden. Carter is entranced by Lucy and offers to help her get Hayden by pretending to date her while they're in Seattle, in order to make Hayden jealous. Does this really sound like a good plan? What happens at the end of filming? Will Lucy ever get what or who she wants? This story is quite entertaining and enjoyable. I like Hayden, as much as you could really like an egotistical, condescending know-it-all. Lucy is quite enchanting despite her rather childish view of the entertainment world. I liked Carter the best because of his down to earth attitude and his better-than-just-ballplayer persona. He's the real winner and the real prize! I voluntarily read this Advance Readers Copy for an honest review.v

I really enjoyed reading My One and Only: The Youngers Book 4 by Iris Morland. Lucy is my favorite Younger! She is a struggling actress who gets the lead actress role in a Indie movie filmed on Hazel Island and then finds out the actor who plays opposite her is her secret crush. When Lucy meets Carter an injured famous baseball player who is overseeing the filming she assumes the worst about him. I loved Lucy's and Carter's interactions and the interplay between the two characters in this book. I highly recommend reading it. I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review of it.
