4By MsSunshine73A great mystery, nail biter! I felt compassion for the husband, the children, the girlfriend, the grandma, AND the investigator. The bad guy was deranged & despicable… as bad guys should be! Great pace & character evolution.Amazing Book!
5By Tia Howard06This book is so amazing and definitely keeps you on your toes. It only took me a little over a week to finish it, and even if I did just finished I wouldn’t mind rereading it already.Suspenseful
5By Loveroffantasy101Amazing. That’s all I have to say. The plot was great, and the attention to detail was extraordinary. And the plot twist; cherry on top.Great Book
5By MelanieMilstein36I really enjoyed this book, the tension reading each page was gripping. Highly recommended 😃4.5
4By Hardcore_ChristianThis book really was amazing. I love the focus and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. I wish it gave us a more thorough ending with details of how the characters moved on in life after something major, but aside from a rushed conclusion, the rest of the story was quite enjoyable. Highly recommend to suspense lovers!Maternal love turned into psychological abuse!
1By VΛX-7 KevenThe handling of a major criminal case is absurd—how can a suspect attempt a break-in, then return to commit arson, and still evade capture? Officers are deployed like children playing cops and robbers, and the author tries to justify it with “shortage of manpower”? Two unprepared female officers sent to search a potentially active crime scene? If danger arises, both the officers and the victim are put at risk. This completely ignores how real-life police operations and threat assessment work. Then comes the emotional blackmail: a victim who has been imprisoned, raped, and forced to give birth is written as willing to remain captive just to be with the child fathered by her abuser? Women can love children, yes—but stop moralizing that they must love them unconditionally, even in cases of extreme trauma. That’s not love—it’s psychological violence disguised as virtue. The whole book is riddled with emotional PUA tactics and moral manipulation of women. It has no basis in reality and blatantly ignores PTSD and how real people react to prolonged trauma. The plot is absurd, the characters act like aliens, and the logic crumbles like a collapsing building. 👉 One star isn’t the bottom. It’s just the lowest the platform will let me give!A great book!
5By RedRoverReviewIt was fast paced and a page turner.Interesting premise but unsatisfying plot
2By emilytakanoNo spoilers - This books starts with a captivating mystery, and I liked the multiple narrative viewpoints. I found it interesting that the reader could see into the mind of the villain while simultaneously watching the police investigation catch up to the information we already knew from other chapters. However, the book meanders a lot in the beginning, wasting time on ultimately meaningless “clues”. The characters and their motivations are never explored fully, and the resolution at the end is rushed and unsatisfying.Easy read
5By MerariHThis was a great easy read.Truths

4By Toritise🐢This book was very descriptive and well written. However, I do find that the end was very underwhelming. I would have liked to see more details. I definitely am interested in reading more of the Gina Harte series. Lots of interesting plot twists!Such a good read
5By ChihstarI DEVOURED this book. I finished in it about 8 hours and woke up early to finish it before work. It was great. The dialogue was good, the characters were good, the crime was good. The end petered out a bit but knowing it’s a series made that a ok for me!Ending was disappointing
4By anna kat 😋I wanted to see Luke and Debbie reunionIntense and gripping
5By naptbirdGood, pretty well written, intense novelCaptivating
5By BlessedjcmThe story was intense and captivated me. I did not want to stop reading. It was very well written and realistic. I didn’t want the story to end.Thrilling mystery
4By Shannieb00This book kept me up at night trying to figure out the next thing. I only wish it had gone a bit more into the family’s life after the victim was found.
