Love the characters in this story! It's not as exhilarating as the rest of the series but still a good addition to it.

A well written storyline with fantastic characters. Retired hitman, a small town girl and a jerk. Alexei and Daisy are different but they are so great together. This is an intriguing storyline that will keep you turning the pages. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

A retired hitman who comes to the rescue of a woman who totally captivated him. Their chemistry is hot, their budding romance is just great to read. And of course, there’s some danger involved. A great read!

I will start off by saying that Alexis Abbott has given us another page turner. I read this book in one sitting because I wanted to know what happened. Alexei and Daisy are totally different and I think that’s what really worked for them. Alexis described Daisy just the way I imagine any small town girl to be. Everyone knows everyone and looks out for each other. Of course, every town has at least one jerk and Dean happens to be the jerk of Broken Pine. Alexei has retired from being a hitman and just wants to live a simplier life now. When he sees Dean bullying Daisy, he knows he will protect her. How will Daisy react to learning the truth about Alexei’s past profession. No spoilers, so grab your copy and see if you don’t fall in love with Alexei.

Great read that will have you reading in one sitting. Daisy is a country girl who is an innocent until she meets Alexei. Alexei has secrets that are about to be revealed when Daisy needs help. Alexei & Daisy has instant connection the moment they met and once they are together nothing can tear them apart. Great read that held my interest until the end.

Yes yes yes to this book!! This is probably my favorite genre and this author really does it so well! We get amazing action sequences, hot chemistry but we also get this conversation starter. That topic of morality that makes you think twice about what is right and wrong. Alexis Abbot is fantastic with being non judgmental of various lifestyles and simply brings their reality to life. Incredibly good. Loved it!

An enjoyable fast paced read. I liked both characters. Alexei was more than just a hitman killing any one. Daisy was able to make him open up so she could see past the rough exterior and stereotypes. the ending was a bit fast.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Alexei resides in a sleepy town in the Midwest. He's come a long way since his upbringing in New York, which led his life in the wrong direction. Being a hitman was one thing, leaving that life, well it's just not done unless you leave in a body bag. Alexei is happy living a quiet, unassuming life as a farmer and doesn't want it any other way. Alexei meets Daisy at the feed store and is instantly drawn in by her beauty, but that's as far as it goes. Alexei comes with too much baggage and has resigned himself to a life better spent alone. Daisy has been dealing with a co-worker, Dean, who has major infatuation problem. This co-worker is harassing and stalking her. Definitely not the way to win her heart. Not that she would ever consider it. This guy is arrogant and sees Daisy as a possession. Daisy wants nothing to do with Dean, but he is persistent and refuses to take no for an answer. Up until now Alexei has stayed away but when Daisy is put in his path once again, all bets are off. He vows to protect her. Just when they think the danger is gone, Alexei's past comes back to haunt him. If the hitman needs to come out of retirement, so be it. OMG...ALEXIS' HITMEN🔥*faints* 💕WOW !
