From Vice President Kamala Harris, one of America's most inspiring political leaders, comes a book about the core truths that unite us and how best to act upon them.

"A life story that genuinely entrances." —Los Angeles Times

“An engaging read that provides insights into the influences of [Harris’s] life...Revealing and even endearing.” —San Francisco Chronicle

The daughter of immigrants and civil rights activists, Vice President Kamala Harris was raised in an Oakland, California, community that cared deeply about social justice. As she rose to prominence as one of the political leaders of our time, her experiences would become her guiding light as she grappled with an array of complex issues and learned to bring a voice to the voiceless.

In The Truths We Hold, she reckons with the big challenges we face together. Drawing on the hard-won wisdom and insight from her own career and the work of those who have most inspired her, she communicates a vision of shared struggle, shared purpose, and shared values as we confront the great work of our day.

People who have IQ above 70 should be able to listen or read with an objective opinion. If you are reading the reviews and want to have a broader perspective on the world, I say go for it.

The ultimate chameleon. I could not finish this snooze festival. Yes, I did try to read it but it was too mindless. Learning anything truthful about her seems impossible. Total waste of time and money.

A truly remarkable yet utterly American story. A must read for people interested in substance over sound bites.

“The Truths We Hold” reads like an extended Christmas newsletter. Senator Harris’ kind even reverent words about Earl Warren reminds me of a time when politicians of both parties buckled down and governed between elections. She wrote of cities and neighborhoods throughout California in ways that were familiar to me. Senator Harris took me on a journey of learning and personal .

Appears to try and whitewash her history of privilege and her aggressive win-at-all-costs approach to politics. Was hoping she was more about the truths she holds and her values. Not worth the read - sorry (really wanted to like this one).
