Gay Girl, Good God

- Genre: Christianity
Description
“I used to be a lesbian.”
In Gay Girl, Good God, author Jackie Hill Perry shares her own story, offering practical tools that helped her in the process of finding wholeness. Jackie grew up fatherless and experienced gender confusion. She embraced masculinity and homosexuality with every fiber of her being. She knew that Christians had a lot to say about all of the above. But was she supposed to change herself? How was she supposed to stop loving women, when homosexuality felt more natural to her than heterosexuality ever could?
At age nineteen, Jackie came face-to-face with what it meant to be made new. And not in a church, or through contact with Christians. God broke in and turned her heart toward Him right in her own bedroom in light of His gospel.
Read in order to understand. Read in order to hope. Or read in order, like Jackie, to be made new.
Reviews
For all Christians to read
5By Margar10992If you love Christ, this book is for you. It is so beautifully written. It also helps those heterosexual married Christians realize that marriage is not your main love. God is! Such a fantastic read.Truly the good news for all those SSA
5By SpankiieeAs a now married and still same-sex attracted Christian this book has blessed me immensely. Understanding that having heterosexual intimacy was not going to cure me of my homosexual desires was a truth I was not prepared for. God’s desire is for us to be satisfied in him in the middle of a culture that deifies sexual/romantic intimacy above all things. Jesus is our example of being satisfied alone in the fellowship of the Father and Jesus must have supremacy in the heart of the SSA Christian. Thank you God and thank you Jackie for letting Him use you.Powerful testimony!

5By GRockTbpThis book is a riveting and powerful testimony about God’s power to save, deliver, and set free. I decided to read this book because I am discipling someone who has turned away from the lesbian lifestyle. I found however that it really shines the light on all sin. Sin is sin regardless of your sexual orientation, and we all need a Savior. For all Christians
5By valerie_blakeThis book is helpful for ALL Christians and unbelievers to understand an increasing topic in our society- and how to approach it with the power of truth and compassion in our personal lives as well as other people. Grateful for Jackie sharing her testimony and redemption story. "And they have conquered him (the devil/Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony" (Revelation 12:11).Beautifully Written
5By Halij52002Jackie Hill Perry has really done a stellar job captivating God’s glory in just about 125 pages. This book not only educates us on SSA Christians, but it also shines a light on our own sins. I found myself relating to the description of the difficulty of resisting the temptation of sin. I have seen some reviews that mention the difficulty of reading her style of writing, and I did not seem to get that same reaction. Jackie is a very wise and intellectual person who uses many different words to describe feelings and emotions. She is a poet. We would do well to take heed to the words on these pages. I truly enjoyed reading this book. Praise God for using Jackie in this way.Must Read

5By JaykaytwoThis book was written by Jackie, but God just used her gift as a vehicle for his message. The goal isn’t heterosexuality, the goal is Holiness and likeness in the image of God.
