Moving to Redemption, Texas, is chapter one in Caroline’s new life story. Opening a bookstore is the next. Finding love is the last thing on her mind as she settles into this new place called home. But when she meets a handsome, soulful man who’s also starting over, all bets are off.

to reach a happily-ever-after
Jackson McBride came to Redemption looking only to find himself, not someone to love. Ever since his marriage ended, he’s been bitter. Sure, he used to believe in love—he even has the old song lyrics to prove it—but the Jackson of today is all business. That is, until a beautiful young widow who’s moved to town inspires a change of heart. Could it be that the myth of Redemption’s healing magic is true…and Jackson and Caroline can find a second chance at a happy ending after all?

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it. I have not read the prior stories of this series and even though some of the characters make appearances, I don't think it is necessary to read them. This book seemed a little choppy for me. It was hard to tell how much time had passed at one point. It seemed like a year had gone by, but Haley (Jackson's daughter) was seven for two years? I was confused. Now it was an ARC that I read and sometimes they haven't gone through a final revision. The premise of the story was a good one but again a little choppy. It is written in my favorite dual POV format. Also the author did a fade out of the sexy scenes so it would be up to a parent to determine if it is appropriate for those under the age of 18. While I did enjoy it, it would not be a book that I would want to re-read again. Again, this is my opinion and someone else may thoroughly enjoy it more.

What a fabulous surprise this romance turned out to be. Jackson and Caroline provided so much depth, strength, heart and soul that I couldn’t help but be captivated. Both have suffered challenging losses and somehow, life has sent them both to Redemption. As they both navigate a new life and finding that balance needed, they are drawn to each other through their struggles. Each one is working to build a new business and have found a unique family in Redemption to help. Neither one wants to be open to love but life has a different plan for them. This book introduced a wonderful cast of characters through their family and friends that created this comforting atmosphere and has me wishing I could visit Redemption.

I received this ARC for an honest review. This story is about Jackson and Caroline. Jackson was a song writer to his ex wife and he is having problems writing after the divorce. Caroline is finding her way after her husband was diagnosed early onset Alzheimer’s . They meet by chance at a B&B in Redemption, Tx. Caroline was there to do a story for a travel magazine, and Jackson was there to check on some property that his aunt left him and his cousins. When Jackson first saw Caroline, he started to hear music again. During their stay, they crossed paths again after dinner. Caroline’s tour guide also wanted to see the property because it has a ghost town. Caroline received a call that her husband had a heart attack and Jackson volunteered to drive her. They became sort of friends on the drive. They didn’t reconnect until a year later when Caroline opened a book store in Redemption. Much more happens, but I’m not going to tell you. YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!

Jackson Mc Bride stole my heart in this sweet and charming romance story. But Emily March’s description of this country and canyon took my breath away and held my attention through this entire book. Jackson heads to Redemption, Texas leaving behind his home, his work, and his one reason for living his six year old daughter, Haley. After losing a custody battle with his ex-wife. With revenge in his thoughts, he hopes to find himself and heal his heart. So when he finds out that a crazy Aunt had left 3,000 acres in a trust and he was one of three named trustees, his cousins and Jackson head out to see what this property had in store for them. And what a treasure they find there. But when a faint melody drifts through his mind when he comes in contact with a woman, he cant believe it, are his tunes returning? Recently widowed Caroline Carruthers returns to Redemption after writing an article for a national publication about the property, that the Mc Brides inherited. Her troubled spirit found a measure of peace when she was there last and she wants to start a new chapter in her life being the owner of a new bookstore. Grieving, Caroline becomes nothing more than a friend with Jackson at first. But as these two connect their lives will never be the same. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
