Description

Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning.

I was late for the first day at my new job—a job I’d now have to compete for even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger.

While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons.

She’d ticketed a long line of cars—except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine.

Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine. Chances were, the owner would pay it and be none the wiser.

Except, I accidentally broke the windshield wiper while slipping the ticket onto the car’s window.

Seriously, my day couldn’t get any worse.

Things started to perk up when I ran into a gorgeous man in the elevator. We had one of those brief moments that only happened in movies.

You know the deal…your body lights up, fireworks go off, and the air around you crackles with electricity.

His heated stare left me flush when I stepped off the elevator.

Maybe things here wouldn’t be so bad after all.

Or so I thought.

Until I walked into my new boss’s office and met my competition.

The gorgeous man from the elevator was now my nemesis. His heated stare wasn’t because of any mutual attraction. It was because he’d saw me vandalize his car. And now he couldn’t wait to annihilate his rival.

There’s a fine line between love and hate—and we shouldn’t cross it.

We shouldn’t—but straddling that line could be so much fun.

I really didn’t care for the book. Long and drawn out. As you can see, I had to keep coming back to it. I did like the characters, but could not feel the love connection. More interesting as adversaries. Nice ending.
  • Another amazing story by Vi

The stories just keep getting better and you see so much of precious characters in new ones that she is building on. Bennett had me from his jog and every woman has some Annalise in her and has probably gone through what she did with a string along ex. There story was so fun to get wrapped up and in see progress. I love good simple love stories with big a lot of drama and just focusing on 2 people falling in love.
  • Feel in love with characters

Vi infuses her characters with such wit and charm, I couldn’t help but love them. Would have loved to see them more challenged. Story lacked intrigue. These two main characters could have conquered the world.

One of my new favorite Vi Keeland books! This was everything I was looking for in a book. There was so many good things about this book. One, both POVs were shared. Two, there was a back story to tie in with the present. Three, it was an office romance and those are one of the best types of romances. Lastly, the characters were amazing! I absolutely loved Bennett and Anna as individuals and as an “item”. Their chemistry was very sexy to read, specially with the build up on it. Anna was so funny and overall powering when it came to competing for her job. Bennett was also hilarious, very hot and it was really nice reading in his POV and reading his thoughts. I really never wanted to put this book down even though I had to a lot this past weekend. It was a great read, I would recommend to anyone even if they’ve never read Vi Keeland before!
