Description

On a cold February morning in 1967, Sheriff Coleman Grundy finds Betty Lou Mundy dead in her front yard and her husband on the porch with the gun that killed her. It looks like a classic case of revenge on a cheating wife.

Until the next murder.

And the next.

As Cole desperately searches for leads, he’s forced to come to grips with his own wife’s unsolved murder three years earlier, and in the process, he unearths long-buried secrets that change his life forever.

The story was well written and moved quickly. The characters were believable and so was the story. I enjoyed reading this book.

This book had me second guessing, trying to figure out what was happening. I don’t normally read but this book was one of the best I’ve ever read.

This book held my attention and I had to wait until the end to find out who the bad guy was. I would never have guessed. This was a good whodunnit that had a surprise ending.

Definitely kept my interest and kept me guessing. I loved the chapters keeping a running timeline. I found this in the free bookstore and now I’ve purchased the first in the series (this book was number 3 I think) and can’t wait to read it. Ken has a new fan!

A delightful read where who-dun-it wasn’t clear until the very end. Real characters. Captured the texture of 1960’s Virginia beautifully.
