The twist of a knife. The birth of a legend.

With this collection of prequel novellas, step into the world of the complete, #1 bestselling Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas, author of the Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) series.

Celaena Sardothien is her kingdom's most feared assassin. Though she works for the powerful Assassin's Guild and its scheming master, Arobynn Hamel, she yields to no one and trusts only her fellow killer-for-hire, Sam. But when Arobynn dispatches her on missions that take her from remote islands to hostile deserts, Celaena finds herself acting independently of his wishes and questioning her own allegiance.

If she hopes to escape Arobynn's clutches, Celaena will have to put her faith in her wits and her blade . . . knowing that if she fails, she'll lose not just a chance at freedom but her life.

This book was exciting at times but I had to force myself to get through it. I’m a huge Sarah J Maas fan but I’m not the biggest fan of this book. Excited to continue with this series

This book has so many ups and downs, it is constantly begging you to keep reading. The story of Sam is so heartbreaking and truly makes you feel for the couple in this book. It added a huge amount of details and understanding to before the TOG series. I would recommend this to anyone.

Read this book after reading the first three and it gives a great background to the previous novels. Great book!

Read this after completing the series and it compelled me to read the entire series over again with new perspective! This was so well crafted and anxiety inducing, as we all knew where it would end, but it was the how that had me speed reading! Love love love this gut wrenching story!

Tragic, powerful, complicated love. Sets the stage for the series.
  • Amazing story of Hope

The end always gives me such hope for a better future when I think of it. I love this book and I always will. I’ll hope that when I become a Mom, my kids will enjoy reading this series as much as I did. If I could, I’d erase my memory of this series, anything to experience the shock, tears, smiles, laughs, and triumphs of this series, the ups and downs of it, for the first time again.

After I finished reading the ACOTAR series, I tried to get into these. But they weren’t as good.

This one was amazing from beginning to end. You don’t have to read this one first unless you want to!

Beautifully written. Great character development. Can’t wait to see what will happen next. By the way, there were no missing parts here as it was mentioned in other reviews. It seems an update was submitted and the missing story was added back.

I loved this book. I read it after HOF, which is highly recommend. However, reading the tandem and realizing I’m missing info….because this version is missing The Assassin and the Healer! Get the digital copy on Kindle or read the physical book for the full version and you aren’t stuck going back like me.

I ended up reading throne of glass first not realizing Celaena’s story began with this one. This was an amazing read and each story helps you understand her story before Throne of Glass !!! A lovely story to read!

This doesn’t contain The Assassin and the Healer, the second novella of five in the prequel series.

Bought this because I forgot to bring my physical copy of the book to vacation. Extremely disappointed to find out it’s missing a whole section (the assassin and the healer). The section I was in the middle of reading. So disappointed I didn’t realize this before purchasing the book. Not worth it and I can’t even get a refund.

This book is missing a whole Novella, the Assassin and the Healer! Hopefully it can be updated to include it. It’s also not in the book store for individual sale, so not sure what is going on there. Kindle does have it in their version of the e-book.
  • This e book leaves out AN ENTIRE section of the book!

There is a part of this book, called the assassin and the healer and it is missing from this version of the book! It is unacceptable for a whole section of a book to be missing. The only reason I caught this is because I had the physical assassins blade book and I was halfway through it when my husband bought me an iPad for my birthday to read books on. I decided to switch over to finishing assassins blade on the iPad and I left off on the healer. When I switched over I noticed that it was completely missing from this digital version of the book. This is an extremely popular book and now I am nervous about buying more books on the iPad because what if other parts are missing from other books?
