Reviews
It was ok
3By rozz96I found it difficult to get through, the plot was predictable and sometimes even frustrating to read as the main character is supposed to be the smartest and most cunning character in the book, yet couldn’t figure out what was going on for most of the book that I had figured out in 5 minutes.Loved it
5By thecat'smeowI thoroughly enjoyed this book. A lovely mix of fantasy, romance, action and thrill. I'm excited to continue the series.10/10
5By Becca09090This book was very interesting and fun to read. It’s a real page turner, and kept me on the edge of my seat!Amazing !!!
5By sanimel_This book kept me up all night!! I loved reading every chapter. Full of thrill, laughter, and sadness. I love the main character and how brave she is. I can’t wait to continue reading more about her.So good!!!
4By M0rgan23!!It was such a good book and I highly recommend reading Assassins Blade first so you understand what’s going on and why it’s so important.Got me hooked
4By ksw765Clever twists. The main character was explained well, but not exhaustively. I liked that writer gave her not only good love interests, but developed friendships with men and women, so it didn’t seem that every man she met was blown away/in love with her. I do think her character could have been a bit more aggressive/intimidating, given her occupation. Excited to read more of the series!Brushes the surface of fantasy
3By adsnoorPoorly written, obvious plot, a bit too corny for what it is. Didn’t live up to the hype.Loved
5By Lexi M.A.Loved it. Can’t wait for the rest.love this book!
5By LozonhThis is the third series I have read of Sarah J Maas. While you can tell she wrote most of these prior to ACOTAR. The books are still amazing but she sometimes adds these ‘!’ That dilutes the seriousness needed for an “older” audience (late 20s & up). As you read further into the series you can see her writing evolve it just keeps getting better! READ THESEThe Glass Throne
5By sunmightCould not put it down! I can’t wait to read the second one. This book has taken several hours of sleep from me just so I could continue the story. Mystery and intriguing plot with a dash of romance this book has it all even horror. A very enchanting start to the series.okay
2By bbymxcoI thought the writing seemed to reveal exactly what was going to happen. Nothing seems new to me or exciting. It’s an okay read, the characters weren’t the worst, they just felt rushed. My favorite series now!
5By miafrasierThis was the best, thrilling, and enticing first book in a series! I couldn’t put it down! This got me out of my reading slump and back into reading more frequently. I’m so excited to keep reading this series and have only ever heard good things about this book! This book lives up to the hype and doesn’t let you down! Whenever I thought that I knew what was going to happen there was an amazing plot twist, and kept me on the edge of my seat!An okay read
3By StreamwaterI read the physical copy of the book. My review is based on it. I have not purchased this digital copy. It took me over a month to finish this one. It felt boring and dragging most of the time. Not for everyone but I’d recommend it if your a fan of the authorWasn’t worth $17.00 ATALL
1By BannyBooRooIt was ok. Nothing spectacular, the relationships between the characters felt fake, some characters were better written than others, many needed fleshed out more. The plot was the typical and predictable YA trope. The main character worried more about dresses and parties than training , which she would have needed. The story itself felt rushed and many parts unattainable, some even contradictory. No one, no matter their will could suffer from starvation AND be strong bodied. Nor could recovery be obtained in a 2/3 weeks time. I LOVE fantasy however, I like some realism. Not her best work, at all. Will NOT be purchasing the remainder in the series was very disappointing.Gagged
5By Newly Wed HamstersLovedA wonderfully executed plot
5By shyannarichell2000I absolutely loved this books and cannot wait to start the next! And I thought it couldn’t get better🤩🥹
5By *_fun_*Sarah just steals my breath away book after book. I can’t even begin to explain how wonderful this book is. A whirlwind of a beginning. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series. Not what I expected
2By Luree82Super super slow and no real action found myself glazing over parts just to get to the end.A Favorite
5By Allicorn DisnerdThis is the type of book that makes you forget you’re reading. It doesn’t even feel like a movie, it feels like you’re there, watching everything happen. HIGHLY recommend for fantasy lovers! :)
