Description

In this psychological thriller, a missing patient raises concerns in a New York hospital, but as others start disappearing every dark possibility becomes more and more likely.

To Senior Midwife Lucy Ryuan, pregnancy is not an unusual condition—it's her life's work. But when two kidnappings and a vicious stabbing happen on her watch in a university hospital in Manhattan, her focus abruptly changes. Something has to be done, and Lucy is fearless enough to try.

Rumors begin to swirl, blaming everyone from the Russian Mafia to an underground adoption network. Lucy teams up with a skeptical NYPD detective to solve the case, but the truth is far more twisted than a feisty single mom could ever have imagined.

I actually enjoyed this book. It may have been a little unrealistic and not as eventful, it was still a very good book and was my first Patterson book at that.

I am a HUGE Patterson fan, but I hated this book. It was boring, poorly written, and not up to Pattersons standard. If this had been the first Patterson book I had ever read, it would also be the last

I was actually quite bored with the entire story. And I didn’t really like or “believe” the main character, Lucy, whom I found a bit obnoxious . Didn’t seem like a James Patterson “quality read”.

This was so poorly written. Little plot and no suspense. Unrealistic ideas - as is a midwife or doctor would actually be allowed to interact with criminal investigation in this way. I usually really enjoy Patterson' s writing.

I can’t even read him anymore. It’s a shame. Poorly written, doesn’t make any sense.

Ok, this is a first for me!? It’s horribly written, choppy, jumps around, doesn’t make any sense at all!? I have never, ever been so disappointed in a Patterson book, and I’ve read them all!!!
