Description
Jack Ryan, Jr., will do anything for a friend, but this favor will be paid for in blood in the latest electric entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.
Jack Ryan, Jr. would do anything for Ding Chavez. That's why Jack is currently sitting in an open-air market in Israel, helping a CIA team with a simple job. The man running the mission, Peter Beltz, is an old friend from Ding's Army days. Ding hadn't seen his friend since Peter's transfer to the CIA eighteen months prior, and intended to use the assignment to reconnect. Unfortunately, Ding had to cancel at the last minute and asked Jack to take his place. It's a cushy assignment--a trip to Israel in exchange for a couple hours of easy work, but Jack could use the downtime after his last operation.
Jack is here merely as an observer, but when he hastens to help a woman and her young son, he finds himself the target of trained killers. Alone and outgunned, Jack will have to use all his skills to protect the life of the child.

3By hdsujczLOTS of action … way on the too-much-to-be-remotely-credible side. LITTLE character development. I’ll keep reading the series because I’m hooked, but disappointed that it isn’t better.Worst Clancy Book ever
1By toburenmI’ve read almost every Jack Ryan/Jr book, sad it has gotten this bad.Target Acquired
5By Chief Crazy BirdAction packed and entertainingExciting thriller filled with new surprises in every page
4By rleonGreat build up to a whirlwind of excitement and action filled suspense! The unraveling had me pausing to get a cup of coffee to better accompany the plot as it threw surprise after surprise at me. Although the superhero and double “o” agent fusion portrayal of Jack Jr seemed a little off character, it was still exciting to read. If anything can be said to be missing is a more appropriate wind down from the action. Not only does it leave one panting as if just stopping mid sprint, it left some threads of the story hanging without closure. Feels like a mission debrief was in order after the mother of potential crisis has just been tamed! It feels like an epilogue or a closing chapter was somehow forgotten somewhere. Not great writing…
