Description

April Grayson is the responsible one in her family of wild, barrel racing rodeo stars. After years of keeping her sisters out of trouble, she’s finally earned some time to let loose. She indulges in a one-night stand with the cowboy she crushed on in high school. It’s as hot as it is memorable, but the next day she finds out Cole works for her new accounting client. He’s dead set against having one of the "Wild Grayson Sisters" working on Three Sisters Ranch.

Last Stand rodeo youth director Cole Lockwood loves horses, kids, and cowgirls—not necessarily in that order. Even though his night with April leaves him wanting more, his parents’ medical bills have him working 24/7. He’s tempted to go back to his professional gambling ways and enter a high stakes poker game, but April warns that’s a loser’s bet.

Cole and April strike a deal: she’ll teach him about managing his family's finances if he helps her overcome her fear of horses and learn how to be a little more reckless. Can this cowboy make a cowgirl out of her?

April wasn’t one of the Wild Greyson Girls like her mama and sisters so she left the rodeo life, went to college and left home. Cole was trying to make ends meet while taking care of the bills for his ailing parents and getting his life back on track. April lost her job and had to move back to her hometown and when she saw her old crush the night she decided to be wild like her sisters, the fun romance between Cole and April started its interesting journey. In this exciting story the characters are fun and well developed and very relatable. Good read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I received a complimentarily copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it. I have adored the prior three books in this series and I was elated to see it continue with this one. I hope that they continue with all three of the Grayson sisters. Another thing that I loved about this book is that it is written in a dual POV format. Cole Lockwood is struggling to keep his head above water and which of the many medical bills of his parents to pay first. He works practically morning, noon and night to earn money not only for the bills but he is also a high stakes poker player. While he makes decent money at all of his jobs it isn't enough. He has rules when he plays as he sees it as a job. He is great at it but when another family medical crisis hits, unfortunately the rules go out the window and desperation hits to make the rules fly away. April Grayson is the dependable Grayson sister and daughter. Unlike her two sisters and mother, April is a CPA and is the rock that the family depends on to see them through an emergency. April faces a crisis of her own when she is laid off at her job. Her mother asks her to come back home to Last Stand. April is tired of being the dependable one and decides to join in with her sisters' (wild Grayson sisters) ways. She goes to the local bar and there is the boy that she fantasied about in school, Cole Lockwood. April and Cole go through some hurdles as they goes through the early stages of their relationship and really what couple doesn't?! I loved seeing the prior couples that make up the first three stories. It was like catching up with friends and seeing what else they are going through. The plot of this story was one that flowed nicely and kept me engaged in the characters. It felt like I was right in the middle of the story. The author does a great job in making me really feel for these two characters and want to make suggestions of my own to help them through. There were times when I wanted to slap both of them (yes, I'm older and wiser) to make them see the errors of their ways (it is so great being a party outside of the action to make calls that you just know will end in a total mess!!!!) While this is a part of a series, you really don't HAVE to read the prior ones to enjoy this but like I previously mentioned the prior couples make multiple appearance and it could help you to understand the dynamics a little better. This is a sexy story so I would not recommend this to anyone under the age of 18. Now if you are OLDER than that, I would definitely recommend this delightful story.

As an accountant I could relate to April’s need to play it safe and save money. After getting laid off she wonders where has that gotten her and decides to take some risks and enjoy life more. I would love to be able to take a month off to go on vacation. But I don’t know how comfortable I would be with a boyfriend who plays high stakes poker like Cole. For the most part he was careful, but he realizes it’s too easy to get in over his head and lose it all. But I’ve never seen the kind of medical bills his parents have, so maybe I’d take big risks to get out from under that too. The rodeo school he helps teach sounds like fun. It was nice to catch up with characters from previous books.
