Description
Salvaging from historic buildings isn't supposed to require reporting a murder.
When salvage expert and historian Paisley Sutton crawls into an abandoned store with a house attached, she certainly isn't expecting to find a body on site. But soon, her discovery sends Paisley on an expedition through history that links this murder to the one that led the previous owners to abandon the building in the first place. And someone doesn't want her to salvage this story from the wreckage.
Can Paisley preserve herself and her young son while also uncovering the stories that matter most?

Fun Cozy
5By midschteacherBooken has written a delightful cozy mystery with likable and interesting primary characters. They use a good turn of phrase and keep the plot moving along.Disappointing
1By Smurfy smurfsterThis author is insulting to minorities and LGBT and the writing is very poor. Too bad because the story lines aren’t bad , but it’s overshadowed by the gratuitous use minority and LGBT characters that are obviously created to push an agenda. Disappointing to find politics in a cozy mystery and it alienates more than half the readers out there. This person obviously has never met a person of color or a gay personExcellent Stroy that Covers Serious Issues - With some issues itself
5By zoo123987465This book covers excellent themes. As does the second in the series. Of course, she falls for the cop. It gives a totally unrealistic picture of cops. And breaks some major legal rules. Also, she has a unrealistic picture of when a person can become a mother. At age 45, she is genetically a grandmother, not a first time toddler's mother. Not even possible. And her 70+ year old parents are not going to be that active. At least by the second book she attempts to realize her unrealistic forever young expectations. The second book is a bit scary, with some very real issues.Exciting but brought a smile to my heart
4By martirhbThe characters were wholesome, no bad language but good plot.Wonderful book
5By Auria2016Strong, smart and resilient Paisley is equal parts Super Mom and Super Sleuth in this country murder mystery. Great read!Wonderful
5By Lavone116This was very well done and I have enjoyed it immensely. A little too emotional, I hate crying lol, but worth the read.Fun read
5By Gsc10Wonderful character development. I felt I knew each individual as the story progressed. So many twists and turns to keep the book in my hands at all times. Couldn’t put it down. Fun and easy read . Can’t wait to read the next book. Kudos to the author for sharing this entertaining story.Brilliant
5By rrddahThis book brilliantly combines all my interests, sewing/crafts, antiques and crime series. I normally read historical fiction like late 1800’s through mid 1900’s so seeing references to modern day things such as Etsy and Facebook took a little getting used to, but it’s well written and it reads almost the same way you watch a show such as law and order play out. I even have some patterns in my Etsy cart from the shop she mentions.Nice Cozy Mystery
5By Marge K5This was a very relaxing story - clean with a couple of great mysteries that take twists you don’t expect - a little romance thrown in, but just enough: not so much that you get nauseated. Make a cup of tea & enjoy the getaway!Wow
5By Jenniecat 1Interesting finding out about who’s responsible for the killings.
