Description

In your wildest nightmares. . .

As the only woman on Terra who could Lift, Alora was accustomed to hiding her differences. On Earth, she had learned not to trust anyone but her older brother, Jesse. But when Alora's worst dreams come true, she refuses to accept defeat. In spite of reason, logic, and self-doubt, she gambles her future to save the one thing that matters most in her life, and it works.

Or does it?

Her dreams of Terra may finally be a thing of the past, but her life is far from her own. New enemies appear around every corner, and everyone wants something from her. But perhaps the most concerning developments of all are the secrets hiding in her own memories. Can Alora hold on to the one person she loves in all the world(s)? Or will the price of saving him become too steep?

Wow!! Adrift is the 2nd book of the Anchored series, but it added so much to the storyline that it almost felt like more than one book. I love long books!! This book introduces a number of new characters and had twists and turns that I never saw coming. This is definitely a book I’ll want to reread before the next book in the series comes out!

Great continuation of the story! Bridget is an amazing story teller with great world-building and character development. Amazing book one, I really love the connection between Alora and Jesse and the friends they've made. There's another world Alora has to face (Erra) and her strength and endurance is admirable. Looking forward to the next installment!

Bridget’s creativity shines through in this series! My mind is always blown away by her storytelling. Bridget seamlessly goes between 4 different worlds and the past in this book. The main character Alora has many tough decisions to make in this book. On this journey, she has to figure out who she can trust and it just might be the people she desperately doesn’t want to trust.
  • Mind-bending, epic adventure of power and identity

Alora has finally managed to undo the prison world Terra, freeing its citizens to use their powers. So her nightly dreams can stop…or so she thinks. The first night, she finds herself in yet another world, with no memory of who she is or what she can do. Meanwhile, on Earth, Alora needs to figure out how to keep things from dissolving into anarchy as powers emerge and Amun and Isis clash. Could the strange dreams of an ancient Egyptian childhood hold the key she needs? Who can she trust to help her uncover the truth and make the right decision? And most importantly, can she save Jesse as his energy slowly unravels? This book continues the epic story with a whole new dimension. The worldbuilding is incredible, and I was stunned that the new world is entirely different from Terra. It was fascinating to have a whole new world to explore with its own systems and mysteries. The snippets of ancient past both give significant answers and add more mystery. Seeing Alora interact in all the different worlds and lives is amazing as she is both herself and not. I have never read a series quite like this, combining both different worlds and different time periods in one mind-bending, breathtaking saga. I am so, so excited to see what happens in the next world and how past and present fuse together.

Alora now finds herself in a different world when sleeping after what happened to Terra in Anchored. I love the continued story development and things are getting super crazy now! I can’t wait for book 3!!! Will things get solved and the prison worlds be restored or will people now all have “magical” powers on earth now?
  • Must read!

Great second book in the series! I was so immersed in the new worlds the author created! The parallel worlds aspect is so creative and fascinating, and the plot twists kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved the characters and their qualities. I can't wait for the next book!
