THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
“Told in rotating points of view, this Tilt-A-Whirl of a novel brims with jangly tension – an undeniably engrossing guessing game.” — Vogue
"[A] clever, cliff-hanger-filled thriller." — People
From the New York Times bestselling author of The Guest List comes a new locked room mystery, set in a Paris apartment building in which every resident has something to hide…
Jess needs a fresh start. She’s broke and alone, and she’s just left her job under less than ideal circumstances. Her half-brother Ben didn’t sound thrilled when she asked if she could crash with him for a bit, but he didn’t say no, and surely everything will look better from Paris. Only when she shows up – to find a very nice apartment, could Ben really have afforded this? – he’s not there.
The longer Ben stays missing, the more Jess starts to dig into her brother’s situation, and the more questions she has. Ben’s neighbors are an eclectic bunch, and not particularly friendly. Jess may have come to Paris to escape her past, but it’s starting to look like it’s Ben’s future that’s in question.
The socialite – The nice guy – The alcoholic – The girl on the verge – The concierge
Everyone's a neighbor. Everyone's a suspect. And everyone knows something they’re not telling.
Reviews
Author hopes it will become a film
2By dominolouisPainfully clear the author envisioned a noir movie and included scenes specifically for that purpose. Forgot that readers simply want an engaging enjoyable read and not a screenplayThe Ending!!! 4.5 Stars
4By adip2017The ending alone bumped this up to a 4 1/2 star rating for me! The story took a little while to build at first, but once it took off, it had me flipping the pages. The back half of the book was phenomenal. I can’t get over the ending!!! I tend to catch onto thriller plots fairly quickly, and was truly shocked by the ending of this one! This was a great read I would definitely recommend it.Wow!
5By Kdubs24This was such an exhilarating read! I could not stop reading! I loved the different narrators and the cliffhangers before each change in narration. The ending and the true plot is mind-blowing! The whole time you think one thing has happened but turns out that thing you thought didn’t happen at least not how you thought. Such a great read! Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a good mystery. This one had everything
5By Jewel....Likable characters, interesting plot, suspense, surprises, and a good ending.Excellent, who done it?
5By WhendreamsiseeOnly someone could give this book a bad review because they never read it to the end. I’m good at figuring out who did it normally, but in this book I didn’t even figure out who died.Amazing
5By JuanPortugal31My 2 sisters and my 2 best friends all ought the book once it was recommended to us from a friend and we all read it. It was an amazing story and I loved the way the book is structured. So many secrets, twists and turnsDelicious ending
5By Clogue33I like Foleys writing style - not caught up in hearing the sound of her own voice - it’s a refreshing change. Well done.Satisfying
3By brock_zahlerThis book was super interesting! I am going through a bit of a reading slump right now, so it took me much longer to finish this one than I would a normal book, but I think I attribute this to myself, not the book. I was interested in the characters and the premise, and while the back and forth narration was a bit confusing and jarring, overall I thought the ending was satisfying and surprising.51 pages?
1By Bailnbthis book is apparently only 51 pages and has no storyline or plot.A great murder mystery in Paris
5By ohmymuA great Parisian twist! Family secrets, family ties, & family murder. A real page tuner, couldn’t put it down.
