3By mtr694Ranch and work with troubled youth great plot. Characters become difficult to follow at times. Several sex scenes are salacious fluff. Needs editingGreat book to read
5By Fruit WasherThis book was a pleasure to read. A different kind of story than anything I have read in a long time. I was pulled into the story and read until I couldn’t see. Luckily I was able to read it till done. Off work for a couple days. 🩷🩷 Not a whole lot got done but there’s always another day off for house work.Meaty, well rounded story.

5By Agent$$$$Dare, Billie, and Eddie were best friends growing up. They were very competitive and always said “the right person would win, not necessarily the best”. As they grew older, they each had “their” thing. Billie excelled at motor cross, Dare excelled at extreme sports, and Eddie branched out into film, cinematography. His life goal was to make films. So he filmed Billie’s motor cross races and Dare’s stunts. Even though they were best friends, Eddie and Dare made a pact that neither would make a move on Billie if the other was interested in her. Once one of them showed interest, the other backed off…Only, this didn’t work out so well for Dare. He waited too long to make his feelings known to Billie. Billie knew at 6yrs old that she loved Dare. Billie, Eddie, and Dare were all best friends, but there was a special bond between the two of them. But Dare went off to college and kind of lost his way, going a little wild. It wasn’t until Billie confronted Dare that he decided to pull himself together. Otherwise, he would have never become a Dark Knight or been able to help others. Dare graduated and became a therapist at Redemption Ranch, alongside his mom. The loss of Eddie nearly destroys both Dare and Billie. Billie shuts out everyone in her family and Dare. It takes six long years, lots of unreturned texts and phone calls, and skydiving to worm his way back into Billie’s life. Will Billie be able to forgive herself and let Dare in? I think Dare and Billie may just be my favorite couple! Dare’s dancing on the bar top, skydiving into Billie’s run, and his ability to connect with others enabling them to open up, makes him the ultimate perfect alpha-male. The chemistry between Billie and Dare is electric! I absolutely loved how supportive the Dark Knights are of their community. I can’t wait to read Cowboy and Birdie’s stories! I highly recommend this novel! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.Loving Billie and Dare!
4By Samantha B. SokolLoving Billie and Dare! Billie and Dare have been best friends since childhood, and as the years have gone by both of them have realized they’re attracted to each other, only acting on it once, but vowing to never do it again in order to maintain their friendship. That all changes when Billie ends up getting engaged to the other friend in their group, and the day of a tragic accident, Dare tells Billie not to move forward with the marriage. Riddled with guilt, Billie pushes Dare away for years after the accident, along with going the safe route in life, which is everything opposite of what she loves to do, and finally the time comes where Billie and Dare confront their feelings and the past together, and they take a stab at a relationship together. I really loved Dare’s character and his interactions with the troubled boy he takes in at the beginning of the book, and how he also knew what Billie needed even if it wasn’t what she wanted. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. The Trouble with Whiskey
5By Jen G FA*R*C for honest review with no compensation Received from Greys PR The Trouble with Whiskey is book 1 in the The Whiskeys:Dark Knights at Redemption Ranch by Melissa Foster. We are back with more Whiskeys! Three best friends…Dare, Billy and Eddie known as the daredevils growing up until a freak accident takes Eddie. Billie blames herself and shut Dare out of her life. Years later Dare, now a therapist at Redemption Ranch is determined to bring Billie back to the land of the living and back into his life that has be missing… Healing old wounds, broken hearts, highs and lows, emotional, getting a second chance at a HEA.What a story!
5By KittythiefI’ve been trying to figure out how to put into words what I want to say about this story. Not only are Dare and Billie hot together (and I mean 🔥🔥🔥) but they’ve got something more. They’re friends turned lovers, but had always loved each other. They just didn’t tell the other about it. Once I got to a certain point in the book I thought that my heart would break. I won’t say why because in the words of Doctor Who and River Song- “Spoilers!” However, since this is romance, I can say that they do get their HEA. I can’t wait to read more stories from this side of the Whiskey family!I’ll take that Dare!
5By Cheryl33610Dare Whiskey had me worried. At first glance, he seems like a big ole man ho…and I thought, oh boy, he’s gonna need to win me over. But he grabbed my heart and never let go. And if Billie didn’t want him, I sure as heck would have! In actuality, Billie was a tougher sell for me. Not sure why, honestly, because I definitely admired her take charge attitude. But she was very closed off, and it took a while for Dare to loosen her up, because she fought him all the way. The heat level is high with this couple, but so are the emotions…my very favorite combination. As a longtime fan of the author, I love the little glimpses I get into characters I already love, while meeting new ones. New readers can absolutely start their Melissa Foster journey here without feeling lost or confused. Actually, I love coming into a new series at book one and wonder which of the secondary characters throughout the book just might be a future twosome. I see a couple possibilities here…can’t wait to see if I’m right. Either way, Dare and Billie were the perfect pair to welcome us to Redemption Ranch!Daredevils for life!
5By NewberrydThe wonderfully written story and superb characters were delivered as expected. An few unexpected twists in the storyline kept me from getting enough sleep some nights. I just couldn’t put it down. Dare Whiskey lives up to his road name when reaching for that adrenaline rush. His therapy style benefits so many of his clients, I wonder if it is truly used as a practice of some therapists. Billy digs deep and spends the time to get back to feeling like herself. Dare and Billy’s journey is full of love, honesty, and the caring people in their life. Bless the parents of daredevils, whose hearts beat a little faster when they think about their children.Daredevil Best Friends Find True Love
5By Patti_L.I absolutely loved The Trouble with Whiskey by Melissa Foster; it is an incredible second chance friends to lovers love story. It is the first book in her new The Whiskeys: Dark Knights at Redemption Ranch series. Melissa Foster continues to show that she is an amazing storyteller. I love that Melissa Foster continues to write the books that I love to read. I could not put The Trouble with Whiskey down and I loved every moment on every page, which filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. The Trouble with Whiskey is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments that I have come to love and expect in a Melissa Foster love story. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud. My favorite moments are the ones that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. The Trouble with Whiskey is filled with such moments, and with so much emotion. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, Melissa Foster did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. I love how Melissa Foster always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy man. My favorite part is how Melissa Foster incorporates the picture on the cover into the love story. The Trouble with Whiskey is the story of former best friends and daredevils Devlin “Dare” Whiskey, therapist at his family’s ranch, Redemption Ranch and his best friend Wilhelmina “Billie” Mancini, bar manager of her family’s Roadhouse bar. Billie and Dare were childhood best friends and daredevils, along with their other late best friend, Eddie Baker. Eddie was also Billie’s late fiancé. Following Eddie’s death, Billie withdraws from her family and friends. She feels responsible for Eddie’s death. Dare and Eddie made a pact with one another that they would not attempt to date, Billie unless she initiated it. Dare and Billie see one another at the Roadhouse but Dare decides to take matters into his own hands and “took a chance and jumped out of that airplane.” As Billie and Dare continue to spend time together, their feelings for each other quickly change. I love the chemistry between Billie and Dare. I love that Billie and Dare finally admit their true feelings for one another and how they share secrets with each other that they have not shared before. I love the childhood memories that reminisce about with each other. Billie tells Dare what really happened between her and Eddie the day he died. I love the video that Eddie created showing off all their daring stunts. A surprise plot twist changes things between them. I love everything that Dare does for Billie to help resolve the plot twist. I love all the heart-to-heart and heartbreaking conversations that take place between Billie, Dare and the other characters in The Trouble with Whiskey. I love Dare’s proposal, and the significance of the engagement ring that he created for Billie. I love the ending of their love story. I love how both Billie and Dare change because of their love for one another and all the changes that they made in their lives to have a life with each other. The Trouble with Whiskey is filled with poignant and bittersweet moments as well as plot twists. I love how Melissa Foster hints at the identity of the next Whiskey sibling and how The Trouble with Whiskey is interconnected to Then Came Love. I love the characters and the family dynamic in The Trouble with Whiskey the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between the Wicked siblings, and Dare’s interactions with them, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed The Trouble with Whiskey, who does not love a second chance friends to lovers love story. Highly recommend this incredible love story and am so looking forward to reading the other books in the series.
