Description

The essay is attempt to share author's experiences and observations from the time of his arrival to the USA in 1979 to present. This period of 42 years was marked by dramatic changes of moral and political conditions in the country. Conservative Revolution, which started with Ronald Reagan elections in 1980, brought moral and intellectual degradation of the USA to the level, possibly, never seen before.
Farce and lies of the supply-side economic "theory", which was developed in 1970s, found its first implementation in the "Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981"./1993
In 1991/1993 IBM corporate culture of "no-layoffs" policy, generous benefits programs for employees and a "credo of respect to individual", all of which were cornerstone of company success from 1924, was crushed and by the end of 1993 IBM had a mass layoff of 60,000, the largest corporate layoff in American history, event which didn't meet much attention from New America.
1996 Welfare reform was so spectacularly symbolic that The Wall Street Journal editorial review called it "historic" change from the principle of welfare as a public responsibility into the personal responsibility.
Two parallel undertakings were advanced by conservative thinkers for decades: promoting the notion of the value of "job-and-wealth-creators" as indispensable force to accelerate well-being of society and the concept of any social programs as "entitlements": "giveaways" which are not really earned.
This slippery slope of deceit, intellectual dishonesty and ignorance brought this country, at last, to the shameful and disastrous result of election of 45th President of the United States of America.
Such developments were mightily enhanced in the last decades by the Power of Modern Technology.
