One day, he’ll bring home one of the perfect tens he seems to gravitate to and then you’ll get a real girlfriend. I guess I can say that I’m his practice run. At least I serve a purpose.” If you are looking for a book with Hallmarkish Holiday feels, with amazing narration, believable character, fun banter, sexual tension, laugh out loud moments, second hand embarrassment, realistic times where you wanting to smack the main character and some “HECK YEAH” spice. Then just stop reading this and go get this book!! Neighbors for 3 years Kayla has seen Carter bring home more models than she can count. With the walls not being soundproof, Kayla also knows…well, you know. Kayla is a curvy lawyer with a mom who wants her to lose weight and get a man. Carter is a playboy who likes he lifestyle but his mom is dying with cancer and wants her son to settle down. With the holidays around the corner Kayla and Carter make a pact. No sex, fake dating, and make the holidays bearable. With the fun banter mixed in with the friends, and the character development is delivered in a way that makes this book stick out amongst the rest of the Christmas Fake Dating books. The tension that leads up to the steamy parts are well written. The emotional parts of the book flow well and do not feel forced (from happy, sad, spunky, confused, all the emotions given.)

I love the journey of this story. It was great for a lazy Sunday.

Narration Review- Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross are among the best of the best in audiobook narration. Here they do duet narration, meaning he does all of the male voices and she does all of the female ones. This makes an audiobook extra special and really draws the listener into the story. 5/5. Story Review: MMC/FMC- Carter and Kayla POV- 3rd person Genre- Contemporary Romance Heat level- they do the things and name the parts. The P word is used when he is talking a little racy during. Series? Y 1/3 Safety: No Cheating/Sharing, No OM/OW Drama, No S. Violence, No Cliffhanger. HEA/HFN? Y Triggers- Explicit Erotic Content, Language, Verbal Abuse (not perpetrated by MMC or FMC), Knicks Fandom Tropes- Fake Relationship, Friends to Lovers, BBW, Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, Commitment-Shy, I’ll Take Manhattan What I liked- they were supportive of each other. The erotic scenes were nuclear level hot (even the one where they were on opposite sides of a wall!). And their relationship wasn’t just about zexytime. They really built it. What I didn’t like- Heroine was not a Celtics fan. Verdict- highly recommended. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Well written, never dragged on, stayed exciting from beginning to end.

Steamy reading, with lots of cute romance. It was a good combination. With a sweet and emotional ending.

Great story and easy to read. The story between carter and Kayla is adorable. Wish there was more to built up to see what happens with them.
