Description
What did Jesus teach? Distilled from years of study and affirmed by nearly a million readers, Emmet Fox’s answer in The Sermon on the Mount is simple. The Bible is a “textbook of metaphysics,” and the teachings of Jesus express a practical approach to the development of the soul. In his most popular work, Fox, one of the foremost spiritual teachers of the 20th century, shows us how we can tap into the power of prayer, transform negative attitudes into life-affirming beliefs, and claim our divine right to the full abundance of life.
Emmet Fox (1886-1951) was one of the most influential spiritual leaders of the 20th century and a pioneer of the New Thought movement. His bold, dynamic message that our thoughts shape our reality has changed the lives of millions across the world and influenced many key contemporary spiritual writers such as Wayne Dyer, Esther Hicks, and Louise Hay, all of whom have tapped into his belief in the power of positive thinking. Fox’s other key works include Sermon on the Mount and Power Through Constructive Thinking.
“A practical handbook of spiritual development ... [Fox] gives his readers a profound outlook upon life and an absolutely fresh scale of values.” – New York Times Book Review

5By JJ bbghtfI’ve been reading this book for years and it never gets old. It’s also quite wonderful to have this in a digital format which is searchable and easy to put notes in. Emmet Fox was one of the greatest Christian writers I know. One of my top five Christian books of all time.God is Good
5By MattozulI am a registered nurse and recently went through 8 weeks of working on a covid-19 floor in the epicenter of the virus -NY. My father and mother gave me emmet fox’s books when I was 19 and my father told me he knew I probably wouldn’t read it and grasp it until I was in my deepest darkest moments later in life. I cannot explain to you the mental torment this virus has on anyone who has to work with it. The crippling fear I had that my family and myself would not make it out of this pandemic alive was enough to wish I wasn’t here in the first place. I turned to these books and they legitimately changed my life - through God. No, there is no “religion”, and this book does not preach the message you probably think it does. But this book taught me many things, but the most important thing being that there is never anything to actually fear and love is the remedy to every difficulty in life. God is good no matter what, and there is a divine plan after all.Life Changing

5By VedanaI am not a "religious" person - never have been although I have been exposed to many religions and churches. I always had resistance to accepting someone else's word about God, and I just didn't care for some of the zealousness of "born agains" and the relentless touting of Jesus, God, Lord. The idea of you're not "saved," and you're not good enough, and God will punish you if you don't do right, and the self righteousness of other religious people, and the drama, drama, drama of testimony was uncomfortable and didn't feel right. Now along comes the Law of Attraction, and The Universe. What? What is this "power"? How do you reconcile this with God whom you've heard of all your life? More 'didn't feel right'. This author has changed all that for me. I am still not a "religious" person - and luckily I have no shame or guilt about that either. There is a line in the book that states no where in the bible or in Jesus's teachings does it mention religion, and that in fact, religion is something pushed upon the bible from the outside by man. Phew, what a relief! I am in my seventh reading of the book and always receive something new. You've got to get through it the first time - you may have a vague sense of shame at the beginning knowing that you aren't doing things right in your life, but it is overtaken by the idea that there is something bigger out there and by the fact that no matter what, you are still a child of God, and God loves all his children no matter how imperfect we are and continue to be. I love the idea of God now, and I am totally comfortable with and grateful for prayer. Prayer is another thing you will learn about. I am comfortable saying God, thanking God, being grateful. Thank God for Emmet Fox's writings! And best of luck on your journey.....Must get
