Description

It was a dark and stormy night; Meg Murry, her small brother Charles Wallace, and her mother had come down to the kitchen for a midnight snack when they were upset by the arrival of a most disturbing stranger.

"Wild nights are my glory," the unearthly stranger told them. "I just got caught in a downdraft and blown off course. Let me sit down for a moment, and then I'll be on my way. Speaking of ways, by the way, there is such a thing as a tesseract."

A tesseract (in case the reader doesn't know) is a wrinkle in time. To tell more would rob the reader of the enjoyment of Miss L'Engle's unusual book. A Wrinkle in Time, winner of the Newbery Medal in 1963, is the story of the adventures in space and time of Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin O'Keefe (athlete, student, and one of the most popular boys in high school). They are in search of Meg's father, a scientist who disappeared while engaged in secret work for the government on the tesseract problem. A Wrinkle in Time is the winner of the 1963 Newbery Medal.

We had to read this book in 7th grade and no one in my class could understand what was going through. Apparently, we took a quiz and none of my friends and I got higher than a B. I wouldn’t recommend this book.

A Wrinkle in Time is a sci-fi novel about a group of kids and their adventures in space. I personally didn’t enjoy the book because I don’t like Sci-Fi, but it is a good book if you are into space fantasy. The book is about finding a new way to travel through time and space, and later the family uses that way to find their long lost father who travelled to a planet light years away from Earth. To my opinion, the chapters in the book dragged on for too long. I recommend being 12+ to read this book. It will be too difficult for younger readers. I would rate it 2/5.

Makes no sense, very confusing. Wouldn’t recommend to elementary or middle school students. I had to read this for class but i ended up having to read chapters over and over to understand what was going on. Everyone in my class was confused (keep in mind we are 7th graders) and it was hard to manage above a B on quizzes.

It's quite a nice book, but surely not a fantasy for adults or teenagers. I think it might be interestingfor kids around 8-13
