The poem mainly centers on the Greek hero Odysseus (known as Ulysses in Roman myths) and his journey home after the fall of Troy. It takes Odysseus ten years to reach Ithaca after the ten-year Trojan War. In his absence, it is assumed he has died, and his wife Penelope and son Telemachus must deal with a group of unruly suitors, the Mnesteres (Greek: Μνηστῆρες) or Proci, who compete for Penelope's hand in marriage.

Use SparkNotes to Enjoy4By mrjunuhI'm glad I read it, but don't be fooled that you can read this translation without some type of Spark/CliffNotes.

What the DUECE1By KourtneyW23This book sucked. I had to read it for 9th grade. Who the heck likes Mythology? Weirdos.
4/54By Coltman98This is a sequal to the Iliad and follows Odysseus as he travels from Troy. After being gone he is assumed dead and his family will have to fight their own battles. Odysseus on his travels home will test the Greek Gods and himself on his journey to his home, Ithica. This book is good for following the Iliad, but dissapoints with how slowly the book starts. Over all, I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Homer.
Torture1By AlexArtivityI had to read this over the summer for school and it was absolute torture! I couldn't wait to get to the end! Absolutely hated it. I don't even know how people say they "enjoy" it.
