Good story, but hard to get into at first.

The Pelican Brief was the third novel by John Grisham I had read, and it's my personal favorite. Darby Shaw is quick and sharp, and she does not treat her own life like some game of truth-or-dare. I honestly tried to focus as much on Gray Grantham, the investigate reporter, but Darby herself was a bit easier to acknowledge. Now don't get any ideas. I still enjoyed his resourcefulness and his ability to work with people he knows and does not know. the film is all right and all, but pages first, screen later.Great book...
