“An undisputed master of suspense and terror.” —The Washington Post
Jack Torrance’s new job at the Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start. As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he’ll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing. But as the harsh winter weather sets in, the idyllic location feels ever more remote . . . and more sinister. And the only one to notice the strange and terrible forces gathering around the Overlook is Danny Torrance, a uniquely gifted five-year-old.
Reviews
Finally got around to this fantastic read
5By Nleclair198Well, the graphic images of evil incarnate The Overlook will certainly keep me up at night. Makes it hard to feel like you’re ever alone in the dark at night! But I find myself saddened the most by the fact that a well-meaning father tried his best against many odds, and still couldn’t protect his family in the end. Truly no winners here. Despite all of the supernatural horrors in this book, there’s a very familiar humanity fighting to live that will haunt you more than anything else.REDRUM

5By Tyler H from CharlotteFavorite book so far by Stephen King! The book was so much better than the movie in my opinion but I do think the movie did very good at picking the characters based on their descriptions and personalities in the book.Gave Me Some Nightmare Fuel
5By lrhines1Enjoyed this read and comparing it to the Stanley Kubrick adaptation. I understand that things had to be changed to appeal and make sense in a movie. This story has so much more depth to it than the movie does and has me thinking so much about the roles and relationships between a father and son.Another Steven King Bestseller
5By Keith Sk.Steven King is not an author, he is a story teller, and he hit it out of the park with this book!
